Position Overview
As the PM (Evening) Maintenance Assistant at Cabot Cape Breton, you will play a vital role in maintaining the resort's facilities to the highest standards. Your responsibilities include performing routine maintenance tasks, and conducting minor repairs, all through the afternoon and evening hours. The position requires an individual who is competent with a combination of electrical, plumbing and light carpentry work, as well as being a friendly and positive individual, comfortable attending guest rooms (potentially occupied) to listen to the guest concern and then work to address it with a minimal impact on the guests’ experience. Your expertise in various maintenance areas will be utilized to uphold Cabot Cape Breton's reputation for excellence. Attention to detail, a proactive approach, and the ability to work efficiently are essential qualities for this role. By contributing to the overall upkeep and appearance of the resort, you will create a positive environment for both guests and colleagues, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience at Cabot Cape Breton.

Preferred qualifications and skills:
- High school diploma
- Valid driver’s license
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Requirements of the role you should be aware of:
- Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years.
- As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a varying schedule (weekdays, weekends). This position is focussed on evening maintenance support. Your shifts will start in the afternoon and run through late evening (approximately 3 – 11pm).
- Spending long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing, and crouching while performing other duties
- Occasional Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, objects up to 80 lb
