Located on over a mile of sandy beach along the coast of Cape Breton, Cabot Cape Breton is seeking a highly motivated Director of Food & Beverage to join our ever-growing operation. In this position, you will lead, inspire, and coach our Food & Beverage teams to successfully deliver an exceptional experience for all guests. With two acclaimed World Top 100 courses, a 10-hole short course, 72 rooms of award-winning accommodation at Cabot Links Lodge, 19 upscale Golf Villas, 14 Cliffs Residences, 21 Hillside Homes & 14 Dunes Cottages, and exquisite dining in four on-site restaurants, Cabot Cape Breton is intended to excite and inspire at every turn. Core Accountabilities:
Operational Excellence & Execution
- Ensure smooth daily operations across dining outlets in line with the F&B strategic vision.
- Collaborate with managers and staff to maintain high service and quality standards.
- Act as an operational leader during peak times, assisting guests and troubleshooting.
- Implement and uphold Cabot’s F&B service standards.
- Coordinate private functions and large-scale events with Groups & Events teams.
- Identify and execute operational improvements for efficiency, satisfaction, and revenue.
Guest Experience & Service Culture
- Foster a guest-first mindset and personalize experiences.
- Analyze feedback to identify trends and improve services.
- Align menus and programs with Cabot’s brand and guest expectations.
- Train staff on hospitality practices and service recovery techniques.
Financial & Business Performance
- Support budget management, cost control, and profitability analysis.
- Assist in labor forecasting, scheduling, and staffing optimization.
- Monitor inventory and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Implement pricing strategies to drive revenue and optimize profitability.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Mentor the F&B team, promoting excellence, teamwork, and learning.
- Lead training, onboarding, and performance coaching for front-of-house teams.
- Assist in recruitment, retention, and succession planning.
- Promote employee recognition and motivation initiatives.
Collaboration & Cross-Departmental Leadership
- Partner with leadership to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Contribute F&B insights and recommendations in resort-wide meetings.
- Work with Marketing on F&B initiatives and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience leading multi-outlet Food & Beverage operations, ideally with experience in fine dining. A proven track record in managing restaurants, bars, banquets, and experience in labor and cost control measures is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including service standards, inventory management, cost control, and health and safety regulations, is crucial.
- Successful record of leading teams that have made a progressive improvement on guest satisfaction and service delivery.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer software applications, including MS Office Suite, point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
- Positive attitude and excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
