GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manufacturing Quality Team Lead will lead a team of Manufacturing Quality Technicians and Final Inspectors, coordinate quality control activities, and work closely with production teams to maintain compliance with quality regulations and procedures. Candidates must be able to interpret technical drawings and other documents that define product specifications and utilize conventional measuring equipment to confirm conformance to product specifications. Other requirements; Technical Skills: Familiarity with quality management systems, data analysis, and the ability to lead root cause investigations. Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervision and Leadership – Lead, mentor, and train a team of quality technicians in performing quality control and inspection tasks.
- Delegate tasks and manage the quality control team’s workload to ensure efficient workflow.
- Conduct inspections and testing raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers to identify the root cause and initiate data-driven corrective/preventive actions for both line process challenges and non-conforming material.
- Lead root cause analysis for quality issues and implements corrective and preventive actions. Issue CARs and SCARs.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and findings. Generate detailed quality reports and present findings to management and relevant departments.
- Interpret schematics, assembly drawings, data, and confirm part conformance to product specifications.
- Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement in the quality control process.
- Coordinate the disposition of nonconforming material and participate on the Material Review Board as required.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
- High school diploma or GED with a Minimum of 5 -7 years in a quality assurance role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory position.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications such as ASQ Certification in Quality Technician
- Understanding of Lean principles and root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action.
- Desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing operations and technologies.
Experience:
- Familiarity with quality management systems, data analysis, and the ability to lead root cause investigations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing throughout the day.
- Requires occasional lifting of objects less than 25 pounds as well as occasional lifting of objects 25 to 50 pounds.
- Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
