Position Overview
As a Lead Retail Associate at Cabot Cape Breton, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional golf experiences to our guests. Your responsibilities will include assisting the leadership of daily operations of the Golf Shop, including inventory, and ensuring a high level of guest service. You will lead a team of associates, assist guest with their golf-related needs, and provide detailed information about golf merchandise, apparel, and equipment. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for golf are essential in this role. By maintaining a well-organized golf shop, offering personalized assistance, and creating a welcoming atmosphere, you will contribute significantly to the overall satisfaction of our golfing guests, enhancing their enjoyment of Cabot Cape Breton's world-class golf facilities, leading the team to achieve operational goals as well as ensuring a quality workplace environment for staff members to excel in.

Preferred qualifications and
skills:
- 3-5
years’ experience in a retail environment
- Strong
understanding of golf – the game and culture
- Some
post-secondary education in the fields of business, hospitality or sports
management
Requirements of the role you
should be aware of:
- Based on the nature of our business and
the service we provide to our guests; to work with us, you must consent to a
criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional
criminal background check every two years.
- As a seasonal resort business, you can
anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work.
- Retail experience and knowledge of golf
is preferred
- Our retail positions offer a fast-paced
work environment, where everyone pitches in and participates in all functions
- All store positions require constant
physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching and grasping.
- To best perform these responsibilities, employees must be able to communicate face-to-face and, on the phone.
- Constant focus and repetitive work are to be expected
- Based on the nature of this position, you
would experience long periods of guest interactions
- Ability
to manage timeline pressures and constraints
- Lifting,
carrying, pushing, pulling, and otherwise moving luggage, golf clubs, and
objects up to 80 lbs in weight
- Assisting
the manager in training staff, delegating tasks, and motivating team members to
maintain standards and deliver a world-class experience.
- Problem
Solving; Dealing with daily challenges, like resolving guest issues, managing
staff, or ensuring smooth operations, can be rewarding for those who enjoy
problem solving and keeping things running smoothly.
