GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Field Quality Engineer will Coordinate with Manufacturing Quality and Warranty to improve customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and effective response on product defect identification, resolution, and warranty cost reduction. Drive the Corrective and Preventative Action process to ensure proper closure of issues. Gather and analyze field failure data to drive continuous improvement activities with Club Car engineering, manufacturing, and support teams. Manage supplier Technical Factor process and submissions
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for collection, analysis, and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for Warranty and Customer Complaints.
- Define and maintain Field Quality Improvement Roadmaps to improve customer experience and meet business objectives.
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Field Quality analysis/reporting process, aligned with CQI-14.
- Create/update Field Quality documents as needed.
- Manage Field Quality technicians.
- Coordinate with warranty team to retrieve parts that failed in the field for root cause analysis and Corrective Action
- Ensure timely reporting of the part return investigation results to customer quality, engineering, and warranty teams and conclude liability. Retain documented information and warranty parts as evidence of analysis as appropriate.
- Lead the problem solving for emerging customer issues with support from cross functional team to identify root cause, countermeasures, and liability. Track effectiveness of countermeasures
- Engage in regular review meetings to develop working relationships with CFIT/SCIT improvement teams.
- Validate Supplier Submissions for Technical Factor adjustment (liability rates) and update in Club Car systems. Approve Technical Factor submissions. Track monthly actual vs. accrual.
- Review warranty economic impact of emerging issues and recommend appropriate provisions. Assist in reliability risk predictions based on warranty data analysis and statistical modelling.
- Undertake training, when identified, to improve business capability and allow for changes in technology and quality requirements. Continuously improve field quality sub function.
- Travel to customer locations as required.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains a safe and productive work environment by ensuring the work area is clear of items that may present a hazard.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical engineering or equivalent.
- Training in Six Sigma or similar Problem-Solving methodology.
Experience:
- 4+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of managing others preferred
- Strong knowledge and experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems
- Experience with operation and development of warranty management systems using CQI-14 principles.
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Ability to use basic test equipment and hand tools.
- Demonstrated ability using Core Quality Tools
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft software programs, database programs, etc.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- General understanding of tolerance stack up analysis and layout.
- Ability to read & interpret GD&T drawings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing throughout the day.
- Requires occasional lifting of objects less than 25 pounds and of objects 25 to 50 pounds.
- Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment.
