GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The position offers the opportunity to be a Mechanical Engineer working on the development of new products in the electric vehicle space. The position requires the passion for learning about vehicle systems, supplier interactions, design and release of vehicle systems, and participate in projects in accordance with engineering excellence.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Support the design and release of vehicle components and subsystems for new product development projects.
- Develop and maintain a vehicle and component specifications and qualification plans.
- Learn and contribute to requirements, risk analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R, specifications, engineering change notices.
- Employ project management methodologies that ensure a predictable outcome for department goals and responsibilities.
- Remove roadblocks and accelerate implementation of projects.
- Support the development of technology roadmaps and strategies
- Assist in developing test acceptance criteria using reliability and confidence in designs.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with designers, lab technicians and other team members.
- Understand regulatory standards that affect your product.
- Achieve scheduled milestones for assigned projects.
- Effectively self-manage small projects
- Problem solving (9-step, 8D, etc.).
- Participate in customer calls/visits.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required
Knowledge in the following areas is beneficial, but not a necessity:
- Electric and ICE powertrains
- Rotating equipment design and analysis
- Chassis system design – Suspension, brakes, steering
Experience:
- 1+ years’ experience is recommended.
