Position Overview
As Inventory
Control Coordinator at Cabot Cape Breton, you will play a pivotal role in
optimizing the resort's inventory management processes. With a focus on Cabot’s
Retail operations, your responsibilities will include tracking stock levels,
conducting regular audits, and assisting in the development of efficient
ordering strategies. Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited
to, the receiving of all merchandise, invoicing for all product, monthly
inventory counts, and ensuring that the supply of merchandize is available for
all our retail outlets.Collaborating with
cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the seamless flow of goods and
ensure that inventory is accurately recorded and monitored. This position

- Collaborative Supply Chain Management: Working closely with and providing support to the Shipping and Receiving Team in the stock house, actively contributing to the efficient management of supply chain activities within our entire retail operation.
- Inventory Oversight: Leading our
monthly inventory counts for all our retail outlets and the reconciliation of
any variances/discrepancies to ensure we are compliant with our established
inventory procedures.
- Precise Data Management: Ensuring that we are receiving our goods in an accurate and timely manner to ensure that product can flow to our outlets in an efficient manner.The
receiving aspect of the job requires a dedication to accuracy and reliability.
- Document Preparation: The position has a multitude of steps that require accuracy from start to finish to ensure a smooth flow of materials. From processing Purchase Orders, receiving of goods, and invoicing, they all require a detailed driven individual that has a high attention to detail.
- Thorough Product Inspection: Through multiple stages of documentation for each order, the Inventory Control Supervisor will need to show a hi-level of accuracy and efficiency to ensure that the product received aligns with our purchase order and the invoice.This requires an extremely keen eye to ensure that we follow our Brand
Guidelines and our inventory procedures.
- Adaptability: Simultaneous task management will be needed to be successful in this role.The ability to pause one task
to handle an urgent request then processing work on the original task at hand
is a valuable skill in this role.
- Problem Solving: The ability to problem solve and dive into discrepancies/variances is a crucial skill for this position. An individual with the ability to investigate and problem solve issues is an asset for this position
Preferred qualifications and
skills:
- High school diploma and some
post-secondary education
- 2-3 years’ experience working in a retail
setting
- Valid drivers’ license
- Experience with information systems and
inventory software an asset (Yellow Dog)
- Communication skills (verbal / written)
- Customer and service focus
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving
abilities
Requirements of the role you
should be aware of:
- Based on the nature of our business and
the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a
criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional
criminal background check every two years.
- As a seasonal resort business, you can
anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work. Late
night shifts will be required once a month to conduct inventory counts.
- Consistent
standing and walking during the entire shift, occasional lifting and
transporting of heavy loads exceeding 80 lbs., sporadic instances of kneeling,
pushing, pulling, and lifting, as well as occasional ascents and descents of
ladders, stairs, and ramps.
