As a product developer, you will be crucial in creating and developing innovative and market-leading products. Your role will involve driving the development of new products from concept to retail floor. You will work closely with cross functional teams including designers, engineers, product managers, suppliers, and marketing groups to bring products to market. In addition, you will be responsible for tracking costing, building technical packages, and administrative duties for your projects.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a wide variety of accessory golf products by creating product specifications, including design, features, materials and performance criteria
- Create and manage project timelines, ensuring critical milestones are met throughout the product development lifecycle
- Coordinate prototype development, testing, and collecting and analyzing data to inform product refinements
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers to source components, materials and production processes that meet quality standards and cost targets
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and safety requirements throughout the product development process
- Conduct product analysis, user testing and gather feedback to evaluate product usability, functionality and overall customer experience
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop product launch strategies, including pricing, positioning and promotional activities
- Monitor post-launch product performance, gathering customer feedback and implementing improvements based on market insights
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies and advancements in product development methodologies to enhance product offerings
- Conduct thorough market research to identify customer needs, market trends and competitive landscape, providing insights to inform product development decisions
- Build and drive schedules to meet launch calendars for your assigned projects to ensure needs are met for product launches and qualification samples and bulk needs are delivered on time
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Proven ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Proficient in product design software tools such as Adobe Suite
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong understanding of the product development process, from ideation to commercialization
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and cost optimization techniques
- Familiarity with market research techniques and consumer insights in golf products
- Strong business acumen and market awareness, with the ability to translate customer needs into product requirements
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality products
- A creative mindset and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional and international teams
- Strong knowledge of golf products/equipment strongly preferred
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in product design/development, engineering, industrial design or other related field
- 1-3 years of experience in product development related role
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- Normal office conditions with extensive computer and phone usage.
- Ability to work extended hours as necessary.
- Able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
- Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
- Frequent travel may be required.
TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach to compensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected base pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00 per hour. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
