This position is responsible for providing departmental support to successfully complete scheduled activities, deliver programs and accomplish departmental goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
Conduct administrative duties for assigned PGA of America Championships (Spectator, Member and/or Amateur) by answering Member Championship phone line, compiling Championship registrations, maintaining Championship websites with up-to-date information, collating, and packing informational mailings, packing/unpacking trunks, and other championship related activities.
Assumes administrative and on-site responsibility for assigned Championships, which could include but is not limited to:
Updates player entry and on-site registration information packets.
Process championship entries and tickets (if applicable).
Operates championship software program (Golf Genius) to administer player registrations.
Monitors on-site arrival of tournament gifting and on-site deliveries
Revise, organize, and collate Rules information and Player entries, mailings, and registration information.
Assists in championship operations such as managing scoring, calculating scorecards, and posting official notices in the tournament office or player's area.
Submits accounting forms, refunds, withdrawals, purchase orders, and prize money breakdowns.
Organizes equipment and on-site tournament offices.
Supports and updates tournament and brand websites.
Interacts with event sponsor representatives before, during, and after each championship.
Supports on-site college coaches or other VIPs
Supports volunteer check-in and operations on-site.
Relays information as needed regarding championship information to association members, PGA sections, event sponsors, etc.
Assists championship operations during build and/or breakdown after the event.
Assists in the maintenance and revision of event budgets.
Reviews and updates championship assignments and checklists as needed.
Maintains file system pertaining to certain championships.
Assists with pre/post championship shipping of materials.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferredor equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Two years related experience with a working knowledge of the golf industry.
Familiarity with golf scoring systems, Golf Genius preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Must have skills in managing multiple priorities, in a multi-functional work environment; skills in graphic software applications; skills in database management; skills in the development of effective “mass communication”. Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and customer service skills required. Must have ability to understand golf and its related terminology; ability to logically structure processes and procedures; ability to handle several tasks at a time in a fast-paced environment; ability to transport moderately heavy tournament equipment and supplies. Must have knowledge of golf tournaments; knowledge of the internet; knowledge of web-based software and web design tools a plus. Must have intermediate knowledge of Google Workspace, including Sheets, Docs, Slides,Sites, Forms and Drive.

Ability to travel up to 25%. Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays (sometimes up to 15 hours a day). Ability to transport moderately heavy tournament equipment and supplies.
