Job Description
SO/ Sotogrande, a luxury hotel brand located in the beautiful coastal town of Sotogrande, Spain, is seeking an experienced and passionate Maître to join our exceptional dining team. As the Maître, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our upscale restaurant, ensuring impeccable service standards, and creating memorable dining experiences for our discerning guests.
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the restaurant's front-of-house operations
- Lead, train, and motivate the dining room staff to deliver exceptional service
- Greet and seat guests, ensuring a warm and professional welcome
- Oversee reservations and table management to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and update menus, wine lists, and seasonal offerings
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and resolve any issues promptly and professionally
- Maintain and enforce high standards of food quality, presentation, and service
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Analyze and report on restaurant performance metrics
- Cultivate relationships with regular guests and VIPs
- Promote and uphold the SO/ Sotogrande brand standards and values
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a Maître d'hôtel or similar role in upscale dining establishments
- Proven track record in luxury hospitality environments
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Fluency in English and Spanish; additional languages are a plus
- In-depth knowledge of fine dining etiquette and service standards
- Strong wine knowledge and food pairing expertise
- Proficiency in restaurant management software
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
- Thorough understanding of food and beverage operations
- Familiarity with Spanish cuisine and culture
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Impeccable personal presentation and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
