Job Description
SO/ Sotogrande, a luxury hotel located in the beautiful coastal town of Sotogrande, Spain, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Reception to lead our front desk operations. As the Jefe de Recepción, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences from check-in to check-out, while managing and motivating a team of reception staff.
- Oversee all front desk operations, including check-in/check-out procedures, guest inquiries, and complaint resolution
- Lead, train, and mentor the reception team to maintain high standards of customer service
- Manage daily staff schedules and assignments to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to improve guest satisfaction and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences throughout their stay
- Handle VIP guests and special requests with utmost care and attention to detail
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Manage and reconcile cash transactions and credit card settlements
- Provide regular reports to senior management on front desk performance and guest feedback
- Stay informed about local attractions, events, and services to provide knowledgeable recommendations to guests
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in hotel reception or front desk management, preferably in a luxury hotel setting
- Fluency in Spanish and English; additional language skills are a plus
- Proficiency in hospitality management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
- In-depth knowledge of the luxury hospitality industry and Spanish tourism sector
- Familiarity with local attractions, culture, and services in Sotogrande and surrounding areas
