In support of the company’s growth, the Business Architecture Group (“BAG”) team is a new organization, founded in 2023, that collaborates with business teams to identify opportunities and helps to bridge business needs to technology solutions, or other solutions, resulting in greater value for the organization. This function interprets and contextualizes strategy for operational needs, develops specific artifacts such as target business capability maps and value streams to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution, and helps streamline and rationalize the IT enablement process.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Builds and develops relationships with key business and functional leaders to understand the broad spectrum of potential opportunities and directs the resources on his/her team to ensure that efforts are prioritized in the most effective way for TaylorMade. Accomplishing this will require the BAG leader and his/her team to quickly develop a strong working understanding of the areas of the business that they are supporting. These reviews of potential opportunities would, at a minimum, be an annual process to align on prioritization plans for identified support areas plus identified projects (that may not fall into an identified support area or spans multiple support areas).
Partners with business leaders to develop capability roadmaps tied to prioritized areas of opportunities or need. Collaborates with business leaders to develop multi-year capability roadmaps to support annual or strategic planning around areas of future value / opportunity.
Drives discovery process on major initiatives in alignment with business/functional partners, helps teams work through trade-offs between options or potential action plans. Assists teams to decompose current practices to identify root issues and challenges business partners where alternative solutions / best practices should be considered.
Proactively looks for areas to drive cross-function or cross-regional harmonization of processes or systems where it will drive benefit to the company; equally proactive in identifying areas where advanced automation, AI, or other process / tool areas could deliver benefits to the organization and works with business, IT, and functional partners to explore / implement.
Champions business architecture best practices throughout the company and enthusiastically leads and support training for business partners and BA staff in business architecture practices and processes. Actively bring an “outside perspective” on best practices or new/emerging practices and tools into the organization and uses his/her influence to encourage business partners to explore these different approaches / ideas.
Assists the organization in developing muscle memory around business architecture practices and processes, seeks to ensure that capability maps for business/functional teams are updated and maintained (in collaboration with BAG).
Develop, build and inspire the BAG team to achieve the above.
Allocates team resources to projects based on the best fit of experience, bandwidth, and business requirements.
Selects and manages vendors of outsourced services required for scaling business architecture services.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Proven business architecture experience and skills combined with exceptional ability to create value and drive positive change in a business operating environment. Demonstrated superpower in ability to communicate effectively both with business operators (at all levels) and with IT / Technology partners.
A high level of confidence, integrity, and critical thinking skills, establishing credibility and decisiveness while balancing varying business considerations/priorities. Adept at summarizing problem statements or opportunity areas to business partners in ways they can understand, leading to mutual exploration of value-added solutions.
Strong business acumen across global Finance, Operations, and Digital functions, with extensive exposure to and knowledge of ERP business processes and systems.
Ability to lead and work effectively in global and cross-functional team environments with the ability to influence within a matrix environment. Proven ability to build synergistic relationships and interact with management at all levels to influence strategy, priorities, and the use of resources to optimize our return on investments.
Excellent communication skills (all forms) with the ability to negotiate, persuade, and make effective presentations to positively influence outcomes. Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical users and to speak in the language of users / operators.
Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial or operating targets, project goals) supported by data (KPI’s and metrics).
Exceptional portfolio, program, project and change management expertise (including methodologies, techniques, and tools) for the effective deployment of resources and achievement of projects in a cross-functional environment. Financial acumen to accurately forecast and deliver project returns.
High degree of curiosity and ‘learning agility’ with the ability to readily consume and apply new information and concepts with developed analytical problem-solving skills.
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
Bachelors’ degree required; master’s degree with a business process/systems focus strongly preferred (MBA, MIS or equivalent curriculum).
12+ years of progressive responsibility managing multiple large complex projects in a cross functional environment demonstrating project management skills.
5+ years leadership experience with demonstrated knowledge of planning and experience developing and implementing strategies for achieving business objectives, organizing and managing multiple priorities; supporting complex client business capability needs, business process modeling, requirements assessment and solutions development.
3+ years in portfolio, program, project and change management, balancing and leading the prioritization of new project efforts.
Preferred candidate experience: 2+ years of experience of enterprise-class architecture concepts, definition, and creation; PMI Certification for Project or Program Management; TOGAF certification; 5+ years of business or technical consulting experience; and 2+ years of data analysis and use of visualization tools.
Strong data analytics and data modeling skills and competent in one or more data visualization products (e.g., DOMO or comparable products). Experience recommending AI or advanced automation solutions for complex business challenges.
Multi-channel consumer branded products industry experience preferred.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
Normal office conditions with extensive computer and phone usage.
Ability to work extended hours as necessary.
Able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
Frequent travel may be required.
TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach to compensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected annualbase pay range for this position is $210,000 - $230,000. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
