I worked in the events industry for over 20 years. In this role I worked alongside some of the largest exhibition organisers worldwide, assisting them in delivering large scale events to as wider audience as possible. Due to a downturn in the events industry because of the pandemic, I was unfortunately made redundant.
The next stage of my career led me to accepting a fixed-term contract at the Chartered Institute of Marketing as Membership Services Team Leader. This role required me to work within a large membership organisation. I was able to show great levels of customer service, whether that was face to face, telephone, email or web chat. It also allowed me to show great organisational skills, not only prioritising my own workload but also coordinating the team.
On completion of that contract, I moved into the Operations team at a leading Solar PV installation company as Operations Manager. After 2 years in this role, I was offered a route back into a large membership organisation, which is where I find myself today. I am currently working at the Institution of Structural Engineers, as the Regional Group Supervisor. I am actively looking to combine my passion for golf with my career.
Away from work, I am married and have a 12 year old son. As a family, we are big into our sports and are very active. I am a huge golf and football fan, and my weekends are spent watching or participating in those sports. I am a member of my local golf club and currently play of a handicap of 3.8. I enjoy representing my club throughout the year in matches.
