About
Grew up playing golf every free minute of my life and was lucky enough to get my first job at the age of 17 in a local golf retail store. My passion for golf increased from there and was asked to go to work for the public golf course in my hometown of Freeport, Illinois where I was fortunate to be asked back each season between the pursuit of my college degree.
I attended Iowa State University on a golf scholarship, but despite my golf game being fairly solid at the time, I quickly realized my ability wasn't anywhere near the professional level. Based on that, I focused my efforts on my second love in life - architecture. I graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Architecture and decided I had experienced all the Midwest winters I cared to go through in life. A job opportunity with HKS Architects brought me to Dallas, Texas where I worked for 18 years on some of the most enjoyable sports and entertainment projects imaginable. As project manager, I was responsible for coordinating design and construction teams ranging in size from 40 to 120 members. In addition, with project costs in the upper hundreds of millions to over a billion dollars, attention to detail as it related to time, budget and quality was a must. After traveling around the country nearly each and every week for over 15 years, I hit a point in my career where burnout took over after achieving a majority of my goals. I was recruited for a local position with the City of Grand Prairie, Texas which was a perfect fit to keep me close to home for a period of time to get rejuvenated. I envisioned myself spending a year or two in Grand Prairie, but my committed work ethic and loyalty still has me going strong there today. The time has come though to return to my roots and get back into the world of golf. Although I've been blessed to have an incredible work history, nothing compares to the enjoyment I experienced when my job involved golf. For that reason, I'm very excited to search out an opportunity in the world of golf where I know I will be beyond energized to wake up every morning and give my all to a job that I love.
