Founded in the late 1880s, The Wilmslow Golf Club is one of Cheshire’s oldest and most prestigious private members’ clubs, set in the stunning Cheshire countryside just south of Manchester. The club has occupied its current site for over a century and has been shaped by legendary course architects, including James Braid, J.H. Taylor, and Frederick Hawtree.

Recognised as one of the finest inland courses in the North West, Wilmslow is renowned for its immaculate conditioning and playability year-round, offering a perfect blend of tradition and modern championship golf. A Rich Championship History

Wilmslow has a long-standing association with elite tournament golf, having hosted numerous prestigious events, including:

• European Tour & Legends Tour Events – Most recently, the 2020 Legends Tour and the 1983 Martini International, won by Nick Faldo.

• R&A Open Regional Qualifying – Hosted from 1993 to 1998 and in 2001.

• Greater Manchester Open (1975-1981) – Winners included Bernard Gallagher, Mark McNulty and Brian Barnes.

• England Golf Championships – Host venue for the England Golf Girl’s Amateur Championship (2022), Women’s Amateur Championship (2018) and Seniors Series (2017).

The Role:

This position offers great variety and provides hands-on experience across all key areas of a modern PGA Professional’s role, including:

• Coaching – Ample opportunities to deliver individual and group lessons, with access to a covered teaching studio equipped with TrackMan technology.

• Custom Fitting – Work in a dedicated fitting centre for PING, TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist and Odyssey, providing expert advice and club fitting services to members and visitors.

• Retail – Gain invaluable experience in a thriving high-end retail operation, assisting with sales, stock management and customer service.

• Club Repairs & Building – Work in our fully equipped workshop, where we complete all repairs on-site, including:

• Reshafting, length adjustments, loft & lie adjustments for irons, wedges, and putters.

• PowaKaddy repair centre, servicing and repairing electric trolleys.

Putting Studio – Benefit from working alongside a dedicated putting coach specialist in our indoor putting studio, featuring Quintic Ball Roll Analysis and an array of advanced training aids.
