Arcis Golf is excited to announce we are now seeking to hire a General Manager for The Trails at The Woodlands.
The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, strong initiative and the ability to work cooperatively with and through people in order to complete tasks.
The General Manager leads and directs the golf course’s overall operation through maintaining quality standards, maximizing profits, developing, and retaining employees and exceeding guest expectations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all departments, including golf operations, food & beverage, merchandising, and agronomy, ensuring strong collaboration and achievement of goals.
- Partner with corporate revenue, sales, and marketing teams to design and execute innovative programming, marketing plans, sales strategies, and pricing models.
- Develop and implement both short-term and long-term operational and financial plans to drive growth and sustainability.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing staff through strong leadership and professional development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with national programs (e.g., Players Club, Core Beverage Program, Menu Program, Approved Product List, Beverage Bartender Program).
- Monitor forecasts, budgets, payroll, revenues, inventories, and expenses on a daily/weekly basis to ensure financial targets are met.
- Maintain strict financial controls and reporting practices.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by reviewing member feedback, surveys, and implementing action plans for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Key Attributes for Success
- Be the face of the Club – visible, approachable, and present at all events.
- Maintain strong financial acumen with expertise in P&L management, forecasting, budgeting, and problem resolution.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow General Managers across The Woodlands properties.
- Perform daily property walkthroughs and engage directly with department leaders, including weekly visits with the Superintendent.
- Commitment to employee development through training, mentorship, and recognition.
- Demonstrate flexibility and openness to relocation when growth opportunities arise.
- Work approximately 50 hours per week with a consistent on-site presence.
- Bring creativity and entrepreneurial spirit to event development and club programming.
- Understand and manage the capital review process.
- Proactively address challenges and resolve issues before they escalate.
