The Supervisor, Master Data Systems is a key leadership role within the Global Master Data team, responsible for overseeing end-to-end master data operations across SAP (ECC & S4 Retail), Centric PLM, and integrated downstream systems. This role bridges technology and business by ensuring accurate, standardized, and timely material, customer, and vendor data that powers product launches, supply chain operations, and go-to-market execution across all brands.
The supervisor will lead a team of analysts, drive governance and automation initiatives, and partner cross-functionally with Product Development, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, and IT. This role requires a mix of strategic oversight, hands-on SAP/PLM expertise, and people leadership to deliver scalable, sustainable data solutions across a global organization.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
- Supervise and mentor a team of Analysts, providing coaching, workload prioritization, and performance feedback.
- Build process documentation, RACIs, and training to strengthen governance and team efficiency.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for complex data issues across brands and regions.
Master Data Operations
- Oversee creation, extension, and governance of Materials, BOMs, and related master data objects across ECC and S4 HANA Retail.
- Drive the adoption of exception-based monitoring and reporting to improve data quality and integrity.
- Ensure timely and accurate material setup to enable seasonal go-to-market readiness.
- Provide hands-on support for global company initiatives and projects — including stepping in alongside the team when needed to troubleshoot, validate, or execute critical activities.
Systems & Integrations
- Manage and support integration between Centric PLM and SAP (ECC/S4), ensuring alignment across Apparel & Soft Goods.
- Partner with IT and business leads on ECC and S4 Retail rollout, migrations, and stabilization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across OTC, PTP, and Supply Chain processes where master data is a dependency.
Process Improvements & Automation
- Develop and deploy Precisely Automate (Winshuttle) and other automation scripts to reduce manual effort and errors.
- Identify opportunities to streamline material creation and maintenance processes across brands and regions.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts in data governance, reporting, and cross-brand standardization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with brand operations teams to align global vs. local processes.
- Provide business teams with guidance on SAP data requirements, dependencies, and timelines.
- Support global initiatives such as sustainability data tracking, tariff/compliance attributes, and hierarchy governance.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Master Data Management, with hands-on SAP ECC/S4 Retail expertise.
- Strong knowledge of PLM (Centric preferred) and its integration with ERP.
- Experience supervising or mentoring analysts in a global, cross-brand environment.
- Proficiency in SAP master data objects (Material, Customer, Vendor, BOM, PIR, Storage Locations, etc.).
- Skilled in SAP mass change tools, table lookups, and audit analysis.
- Experience with automation tools (Winshuttle, Automation Anywhere, or similar).
- Advanced Excel (macros, pivot tables, VBA) for analysis and reporting.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills (JIRA, Confluence, or similar).
Preferred
- Experience supporting global apparel/fashion or consumer goods brands.
- Knowledge of governance frameworks and exception-based reporting in MDM.
- Familiarity with sustainability and compliance-related master data requirements.
- Prior involvement in large-scale ERP/PLM migrations or S4 rollouts.
Additional Information
- Travel: ~10% (domestic and international, including Europe and Asia).
- Work Hours: 40 per week, hybrid schedule (HQ + remote).
