The Director of Compensation, Benefits, and Performance will spearhead the creation, execution, and management of comprehensive, competitive, and compliant compensation, total rewards, and performance programs that align with the organization's strategic objectives. This role will lead the continuous improvement of compensation structures, incentive programs, performance management (Connect & Coach), and total reward offerings to attract and retain top talent. Key attributes include analytical expertise, strategic insight, and a collaborative approach to driving impactful strategies in compensation, total rewards, and performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
Total Rewards (Compensation & Benefits):
Design, implement, and manage national compensation structures, including job evaluations, job descriptions, job titling, salary benchmarking, variable pay and incentive programs. Conduct market research and analysis to maintain competitive positioning for all roles nationally, ensuring equitable pay practices. Administer job evaluations and compensation surveys , such as broad-based compensation, pay parity, and executive compensation assessment, to determine the appropriate pay structure.
Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure compensation packages are equitable and align with the compensation philosophy, business goals and employee engagement strategies.
Manage salary classification and compensation systems, including job grades, salary ranges, incentive targets and hiring compensation ranges for all positions.
Manage the processes for generating, distributing, and operationalizing annual compensation changes for all staff.
Assess and manage additional compensation structures including but not limited to, stipends, sales incentives, sign-on bonuses, relocation, temporary work assignments and/or contracted work to ensure alignment, consistency and equitable approach across the organization as well as market competitiveness.
Oversee the effective administration of all total rewards and leave programs. Manage the programs' costs, administrative processes, and financial impact.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., ERISA, Workers Comp, OSHA, FMLA ) across all total rewards and leave programs.
Serve as lead representative and liaison between the People Team, external vendors, and company stakeholders for open enrollments.
Develop communication materials to educate employees about compensation structures and benefits offerings.
Monitor the effectiveness of current compensation and total rewards programs and recommend enhancements that support employee satisfaction and retention.
Leverage Human Resources (HR) analytics and Workday Peakon Employee Voice to inform decision-making and measure the impact of compensation and total reward initiatives. Utilize Workday and other tools to track and analyze compensation, performance and benefits data.
Performance Management:
Oversee PGA’s comprehensive performance life cycle (Connect & Coach) across the organization including managing the roll-out of annual processes, communications to all stakeholders, managing and hosting the annual performance calibration process, tracking and monitoring for completion and reporting of data. Develop enhancements and modifications to the process as conditions and strategic outcomes are modified.
Monitor and analyze performance data to identify areas of improvement and development.
Develop, enhance and oversee the internal career pathing flow and promotion review process in conjunction with the executive leadership team with a focus on continuous feedback and professional growth.
Administer and manage Workday Peakon Employee Voice ensuring survey configuration, distribution, and the reporting, analysis, and leveraging of data and insights across the organization.

SUPERVISION:
This is a supervisory position responsible for the performance management and hiring of employees within the department.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for assisting with the preparation and oversight of the budget and monitoring results.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Seven years’ experience in compensation and benefits management.
Three years of experience in team management.
Strong Workday experience desired.
Proficiency in managing compensation, total rewards, and performance within Workday or similar HRIS systems.
Leadership & Influence – Experience managing and developing teams, as well as working cross-functionally with senior leaders.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Certified Compensation Professional (CPP) or equivalent credentials preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Must have knowledge of Human Resources concepts, practices and principles. Strong knowledge of compensation theory, practices, and benefit program design. In-depth understanding of legal requirements and regulatory compliance regarding compensation and benefits programs and performance best practices. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to all levels of employees. Skills in developing successful working relationships with senior management, peers, and subordinates within and outside the department. Ability to set clear direction for the Total Rewards to ensure the successful execution of the strategic plan. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information with the highest level of integrity. Proven proficiency in the use of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. Proven proficiency in the use of Workday HCM (strongly preferred).
