JOB OVERVIEW
This role is for a licensed electrician with responsibilities for all power of electrically driven equipment, maintain all substations, distribution & control panels, and control devices (i.e. sensors, actuators) used on equipment; and working with outside electrical contractors in regard to maintaining building & equipment power and control devices. This position will report to the Maintenance Department
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install electrical panels, controls, and devices for building or manufacturing equipment
- Install control, safety, and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)
- Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components
- Diagnostics of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and control systems
- Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions
- Utilize blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and manuals to complete the assigned project
- Preventative and Predictive maintenance
- Stay up to date on current state code and compliance
- Works towards improvements for process efficiencies
- Work in a safe manner following all PPE and standardized processes
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Must be able to read, write and understand English
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics
- Ability to interpret relay and ladder logic schematics or code
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and diagrams
- Understanding of Massachusetts State Electrical Code
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- MA state electrical license
- 3- 5 years of building and industrial manufacturing electrical experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training in field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)
- The employee will be exposed to potential electrical shock
- The employee may be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- The employee may be exposed to confined spaces while working on machines
- The employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- The employee may be required to stand, sit, crouch, walk and bend/conform in uncomfortable positions for varying periods of time
- Will be required to use vision including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
