Willows Run Golf Complex in Redmond Washington is a privately owned, public facility that offers a diverse 45-hole layout, featuring two 18-hole championship courses, Eagle's Talon and Coyote Creek, a 9-hole Par 3 course, Heron Links, and a family-friendly 18-hole mini-golf course, Rainbow Run. Eagle's Talon, designed in 1994 by Lisa Maki, is a challenging yet strategic course with deep sand bunkers and creative, well-placed bailout areas. Coyote Creek, designed in 1997 by Ted Locke, is known for its family-friendly features, with multiple tee options and a layout catering to various skill levels. Heron Links is a relaxed Par 3 course perfect for beginners and families. The complex also includes Fire Creek Grill, offering a full-service restaurant and bar with a variety of menu options, overlooking the scenic golf course.

GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT – POSITION OVERVIEW
The Golf Course Superintendent (GCS) reports directly to the President. The GCS will lead and manage his/her department to ensure superb golfing conditions throughout the year in a financially conservative and responsible fashion at a for profit facility. He/She is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Club’s golf courses and landscaping.
Frequent, open, and transparent communication with the President and Director of Golf is required. The GCS is expected to lead the golf course maintenance team as well as providing information, recommendations, and leadership to the President to provide superior golfing conditions and maximizing golf rounds.
The GCS is expected to ensure that the golf course is consistently in excellent condition and has a high level of detailing. Continuing education and staying at the forefront of research and technology are necessary for success. In addition, the GCS will provide creative leadership and foster a culture of mentorship, continuing education, and development of future turf professionals. The GCS must have a natural style of “sincere engagement” with the President and staff along with a love of the game of golf and a passion for surpassing customer course conditioning expectations.
INITIAL PRIORITIES OF THE NEW GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
- Evaluate the course conditions and develop an action plan (within 60 days) for the maintenance program
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures and enhanced organization
- Review soil tests and necessary nutritional inputs to all areas
- Work with and communicate with the current Superintendent (transferring to another company owned course) to aid in gaining knowledge of the courses and operations.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will be a Superintendent with a minimum of five years of experience at a golf course known for providing exceptional golf course conditioning in the northwest or with extensive experience successfully growing Poa annua.
- Proven experience managing exceptional Poa annua greens, fairways and tees.
- Willing to relocate within a 10-mile commute. Seattle, Redmond, Bellevue, Bothell, Kirkland and Woodinville.
- Schedules, trains, supervises and evaluates all personnel assigned to the department.
- Supervises the care of turf, plants, shrubs, trees, and other facilities on the golf courses.
- Supervises operation of the equipment repair
- Records all maintenance on course.
- Prepares annual budget; ensures that the President’s budget goals are met.
- Participates in the capital planning process of assets for course and equipment.
- Selects and prepares proper chemicals fertilizers and nutrients to ensure turf health.
- Develops and maintains drainage, irrigation, and watering systems.
- Implements and enforces comprehensive safety program for employees, members, and guests on
- course in with local, state, and federal laws.
- Maintains accurate work records for all personnel in the department.
- Communicate with golf professionals about maintenance plans, and scheduled events.
- Ensures that all products are used, stored, and disposed of in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintains required records and strives to minimize the use of chemical and petroleum products.
- Attends educational programs to maintain a current knowledge of technical and turf innovations that could affect the department’s operations.
- Works with the President to establishes short- and long-range plans for the golf course.
- Oversees all course construction.
- Pursues professional development and mentors the professional development team members.
- Obtain Pesticide license within 90 days.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL AND CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Turf or related field
- CGCS desired

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary is open and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The club offers an excellent bonus and benefits package, including association membership. Salary Range: $100K - $130K based on experience (CGCS - $140K - $160K) based on Experience. Annual performance review – Mid-Mar - Apr
