We are seeking a dedicated Management Accountant to join our Finance team at our Retail Support Centre in Warrington. This role is pivotal in the financial management and production of information for our group’s Leisure companies. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing key accounting processes, and delivering vital financial insights to support our business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing & Payments:
- Process overhead and stock invoices, obtain necessary approvals, and resolve any related queries.
- Prepare weekly supplier payment runs and raise manual payments for bank portal authorisation.
Accounts Receivable & Debtor Management:
- Raise sales invoices, manage debtors, and chase payments weekly.
- Allocate all receipts promptly.
Journal Entries & Asset Management:
- Calculate prepayments and accruals, post monthly journals, and manage Deferred Membership income.
- Monitor the fixed asset schedule and calculate monthly depreciation and amortisation charges.
- Reconcile monthly stock reports and identify stock provisioning policy, calculating monthly/year-end provisions.
Financial Reconciliation & Reporting:
- Post daily statements to the General Ledger and liaise with site management as needed.
- Conduct daily bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly VAT returns and quarterly returns for the subsidiary.
- Generate cash flow forecasts and monthly management reports including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow schedules versus budget with appropriate commentary.
Intercompany Transactions & Year-End Audit:
- Manage recharges between all companies within the group and reconcile intercompany General Ledger, sales, and purchase ledgers.
- Assist with the year-end audit, liaising with external auditors to provide all required information.
- Provide detailed analysis for compilation of the companies Corporation Tax computations.
Additional Duties:
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required to support the finance team and company operations.
The Candidate:
- Certification and Expertise: Qualified with AAT or equivalent. Pursuing CIMA/ACCA or QBE
- Finance Experience: Proven experience in finance team roles with strong accounting skills.
- Excel and Software Proficiency: Advanced Excel and accounting software skills.
