The Tour Truck Representative is a critical part of our Sports Marketing team, supporting athletes in their equipment needs. This role is responsible for driving the TaylorMade tour truck across the country to support at various tour, amateur and collegiate events. The Tour Representative plays a key part in the Sports Marketing team’s preparation, presentation and golf-driven execution each week on tour before, after and while attending events globally. Additionally, this position is a representative of the TaylorMade brand in all service interactions.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for driving the tour truck to each event and setting up as requested by the venue.
- Responsible for the preparation, presentation and execution of the TaylorMade Tour standard
- Master club builder:
- Build clubs to exact specifications for the best players in the world.
- Executes under high demand and with tight deadlines in line with fast pace of Tour events.
- Records, manages and updates club specifications for all PGA Tour players.
- Provides onsite service, manufacturing and repair of equipment at events
- Develops and maintains relationships between TM and professional athletes
- Drives, services and maintains upkeep of Tour Truck and trailer (Tour Van). Keeps all records and receipts current to meet the approvals of Department of Transportation and company records.
- Manage inventory of all products on the Tour Trailer. The Technician will work closely with Tour Reps as well as the home office to ensure proper inventory levels week to week.
- Responsible for off-loading product from the prior year and restocking the trailers with new product.
- Review order sheets weekly and document electronically for future reference.
- In alignment with sales teams, drive truck to and participate in fitting/demo days at key accounts
- Participate with media as needed on a semi-consistent basis. Individual should be comfortable on camera regarding our jobs and the performance of our products.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- College golf experience preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of equipment building and fitting skills required
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Excellent organization skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Extensive knowledge of golf club construction and design.
- Must demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of TaylorMade products.
- Must be able to understand the player population that they will be working with in terms of product needs and tendencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills as well as a neat and professional appearance.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, entrepreneurially spirited and maintains team structure in mind.
- Ability to maintain valid driver’s license and obtain Class A license.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- Position consists of 70-80% travel, in excess of 220 days on the road.
- This role requires a Class A Commercial Driver’s License, included as part of the training period.
- Must be able to work extended hours, holidays and weekends as needed.
- Will spend considerable time outdoors regardless of the weather.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds - physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving.
