SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide support in the management of PCC membership operations, with focus being primarily on PCC tournament activations and enhancing the overall member golf experience.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of two years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a Class “A” Member of the PGA or in the process of acquiring credentials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in managing and supervising the day to day operation of the Pinehurst Country Club golf operation, with a focus on member tournament preparation and execution.
- Work with member committees on member events
- Facilitate weekly and special event play for member golf associations.
- Provide timely and professional communication with members regarding tournament details, golf association play, and other golf-related information.
- Ensure member concerns and service issues are addressed promptly and followed up with professionally.
- Assist in producing Employee work schedules.
- Assist in the budgeting process and ensure cost control while ensuring overall quality of major functions in an expanding business.
- Interface with Employees, Members and Guests on a regular basis.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of the Member Tournaments are executed in a professional manner to meet and exceed the Members and Guest expectations.
- Ensure guest issues and concerns from Members and Guests are promptly handled and followed up with accordingly.
- Work closely with Yield/Tee Time Office to ensure appropriate communication and coordination between Tee Time Office, Golf Group Services, and Golf Shop Registration.
- Assist the Head Golf Pro as directed.
- Maintain Class A certification or continue enrollment with the PGA of America program.
- Have a strong working knowledge of in-house systems such as Agilysys Golf/V1, Club Essentials, Golf Genius and Ceridian Dayforce.
- Occasionally assist with Pinehurst Country Club clinics and member lessons.
- Must be aware of surroundings with an understanding of a golf environment. Must have the ability to see and react to the surroundings including errant golf balls and must understand and follow proper golf etiquette while completing tasks.
- Must be knowledgeable in the Rules of Golf.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBITIES:
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of specified Employees within Golf Operations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
This position may at times be responsible for managing the PCC Intern(s). This position should supervise the PCC Intern throughout their time at Pinehurst. This includes implementing weekly goals and meetings, in order to streamline operations of Pinehurst amateur events and PCC member events.
