BallenIsles Country Club is seeking an enthusiastic and service-driven Golf Guest Services Manager. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional experiences to members and guests while managing the day-to-day operations of the outside golf staff. This leadership role requires a strong background in hospitality, golf operations, and team management, with a proactive approach to excellence.
Essential Duties:
• Works with the Tournament Coordinator to organize all groups/outings that are taking place on a specific day and prepares staff and facility for all these events.
• Helps co-manage On Course Professionals, including training.
• Manages the bag drop area and works with associates to unload their golf bags from their carts.
• Maintains accurate records of golfers renting clubs, service the members and guests who are renting golf clubs, and clean rental clubs upon return.
• Ensures the overall upkeep of the golf outside service areas to include but not limited to cart storage area ice/water machines, patio area, bag drop, bag room and staging area.
• Manages cart parking on the hill behind the golf shop to ensure safety of all members.
• Ensures outside service staff clears the short game area in a timely manner.
• Inventories and controls all member supplies.
• Orders beverages and snacks for comfort stations and conducts monthly inventory. Proper maintenance of a par level inventory and minimal waste.
• Maintains the cart storage area and cart wash down area in a neat, clean and orderly condition.
• Prepares golf carts for play following the approved standards. Ensures proper staging of golf carts during the day.
• Performs range maintenance such as: presenting practice facility with practice balls, bag stands, ball crates and maintains ball inventory over the course of the day.
• May direct start of play.
• Assists in interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work. Make recommendations when hiring, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates. Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
• Manager department members that may include, but is not limited to: Outside Service Supervisor, Guest Services Attendants, Starters and On Course Professional Staff.
• Assists in monitoring business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
• Communicates any changes or new policies and procedures to the department.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
Qualification:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf operations or hospitality, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of the game of golf, including rules, etiquette, and operational flow of a golf facility.
• Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with golf operations or point-of-sale software is a plus.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on club and event needs.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks or hear. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Pay Range:
$23.00-25.00/hour
Environment/Noise:
Regularly works in wet or humid condition (non-weather). Occasionally works in areas with moving mechanical parts; may come into contact with fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
