ROLE OVERVIEW:
To assist the Director of Club Operations in managing all golf operation related activities including bag drop, cart operations, on course operations, services, practice facility, Caddies, tournaments and events. To ensure the level of service and operating standards offered are in line with the golf clubs positioning and operating strategy.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· To manage the day-to-day operations of each area of the golf operations. Attends all staff, management, golf committee and other applicable meetings.
· To develop, implement and monitor operating policies and procedures for each area of the golf operations aimed at delivering the standard of service and operations expected.
· To effectively manage the golf operations ensuring the revenue and expenditure targets set in the operating budget are achieved, cooperate with the course superintendent about maintenance issues affecting the golf course playability.
· To manage all expenses for golf service and their team ensuring that expenses stay within the budgeted amount.
· To monitor and check the operation of golf carts, inform the management board and maintenance department to provide solutions and maintenance of the carts in accordance with the process.
· To check the operation on course such as grass cutting, bunker rake, hazardous posts, roller speed, and other abnormal changes to notify the Maintenance Department and Management Board for better solutions.
· To update the current course conditions and alert players of any maintenance or course construction work in progress. This includes, but is not limited to: Top dressing, verti-cutting, chemical applications, fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides or drainage repairs. It is the responsibility of the Golf Operations Manager to contact the course Superintendent daily to discuss conditions on the course.
· To ensure smooth traffic flow on course.
· To assist the DOCO in establishing rules & regulations for the club, customer care policies, etc.
· To handle customer inquiries on golf course such as golf rules, golf etiquettes, Club rules & regulations, etc.
· To recruit, train and develop golf operations personnel.
· To develop effective training strategies and session plans to ensure all golf operations areas provide the level of service and operating standards expected.
· Ensure all financial and human resource policies and procedures are implemented and followed by golf operations personnel.
· Consolidate detailed utilization data in a monthly and annual basis submitting reports to the Director of Club Operations as required.
· Implement effective tee time management procedures to ensure availability is optimized.
· To implement and maintain a speed of play guideline on the course.
· Represent the Club at golf events, tournaments, exhibitions and meetings as required.
Other Duties:
· To comply with all standards of performance, behaviour, and operational policies and procedures in place at the golf club at all times.
· Performs other relevant duties as directed by the Director of Club Operations.
Requirements
· Comprehensive knowledge of golf club operations, golf tournament and event organization.
· Ability to lead, supervise and motivate a large team.
· Ability of training.
· Possess strong financial and business acumen.
· Strong service standard skills.
· Ability to relate to staff and golfers from a variety of backgrounds.
· To be a competent golfer.
· Master understanding of the Rules of Golf, golf handicapping systems and golf tournament formats.
· Ability to multi task and manage time effectively.
· Excellent organizational skills and be able to meet deadlines.
· Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
· Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, accounting applications and database management software.
