All around the world, golfplayers are perfecting their swings at driving ranges—many of them powered byToptracer’s world-leading ball-tracing technology. Our innovative solutions notonly enhance the player experience but also provide range operators withpowerful tools to manage their business.
We’re now looking for a Backend Tech Leadto join our cross-functional team and help shape the future of two keyproducts. You’ll take a central role in designing and evolving our backendsystems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and high-performing. While we usePython (FastAPI, Flask), we value technical breadth, architectural thinking,and leadership ability above specific languages.
This is a hands-on role whereyou’ll write code, make architectural decisions, and mentor teammates—all whilecollaborating across disciplines to deliver impactful, production-readysolutions.

ToptracerRange Management System (TRMS) is the admin tool thatempowers range owners to manage and operate their facilities using Toptracer’scutting-edge technology. Our team builds high-quality software that unlocks newopportunities for businesses, helping them run their ranges in smarter, moreefficient, and more innovative ways. We also prioritize the operationalreliability needed for seamless day-to-day use.
ToptracerCoach is an online platform that transforms coaching byleveraging data from Toptracer Range games. It gives instructors powerfulinsights into player performance and provides tools to assign drills, trackprogress, and build personalized, data-driven lesson plans that deliver realimprovement.
Possibilities
- Take a central technical role in a cross-functional team with full product ownership from concept and design to development and operations.
- Architect and build scalable backend systems that support real-time features and data-driven tools.
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to ship cohesive, user-focused solutions.
- Guide the adoption of modern backend technologies and DevOps practices, continuously improving performance and reliability.
- Participate in “Live-with-the-product” sessions where we test features at Toptracer ranges—and maybe even improve your golf swing! (No prior golf experience needed.
WeBelieve You Have
- 7+ years of backend development experience, ideally with Python and frameworks like FastAPI or Flask.
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Terraform, and configuration management tools like Ansible.
- A strong background in cloud infrastructure, particularly with AWS, and running services in Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and git-based workflows.
- A strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices—from build automation to infrastructure as code.
- Exposure to RabbitMQ, Kafka, or other messaging/event streaming systems is a plus.
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Observe, or similar—knowing how to monitor, trace, and debug distributed systems.
- A track record of mentoring, architectural leadership, and driving technical direction in agile, cross-functional teams.
- A proactive mindset toward quality and maintainability—automated tests, robust infrastructure, and clean, modular code are your defaults.
