Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration or a related field and one (1) year of related experience coaching, teaching, and/or playing the sport at a collegiate level. Ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures and backgrounds. Ability to work a non-standard work week, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel.
Position Description:
The Assistant Women's Golf Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the overall coordination and execution of the University’s NCAA Division I Women’s Golf program, including identifying and recruiting qualified student-athletes, practice and game preparation, coaching, and promoting an atmosphere of compliance within the program. The Assistant Coach reports directly to the Head Women’s Golf Coach.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coaching: Develop skills of student-athletes, assist in preparing practice plans, and implementing practice plans.
- Organize, prepare, and conduct individual and team practice sessions to prepare for competition and instruct student-athletes in techniques of the sport.
- Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes.
- Analyze scouting reports on all opponents.
- Promote an atmosphere of compliance within the program through strict adherence to NCAA, ACC, and university rules and regulations through monitoring of program activities, active involvement, and commitment to continuous rules education, timely submission of compliance-related documents, and immediate reporting of any knowledge of potential rules violations involving self or others.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience playing the sport at a Division I collegiate level.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
