Description
Member and Guest Services:
- Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist with tee sheet management, starting time, and monitoring pace of play.
- Organize and oversee club events, tournaments, and leagues to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
- Organize and oversee outside events, including Monday outings, as necessary
Golf Shop Operations:
- Assist in maintaining a well-organized and visually appealing golf shop.
- Support merchandising efforts, including inventory, control, sales, and product displays.
- Conduct daily financial reconciliations and ensure accurate record keeping.
- Operates golf shop in absence of the Head Golf Professional and 1st Assistant Golf Professional.
- Assisting other professional staff in interpreting policies, rules, and regulations.
Instruction and Player Development:
- Offer private and group lessons to members of all skill levels, using a personalized approach.
- Support junior golf and ladies’ golf programs to encourage member engagement.
- Promote and implement club initiatives aimed at player and junior player development.
- It is required that members of the Professional Golf Staff golf with members and guests, as time allows.
Course Operations:
- Work with the Outside Services Manager to monitor and maintain practice facilities to ensure they meet club standards.
- Supervise and train golf staff, including Assistant Golf Professional II, Bag Room Staff, and Caddies.
- Enforce Club policies and maintain a welcoming and safe environment.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist with scheduling and managing golf staff to ensure operational coverage, inside and outside.
- Maintain accurate records for tournaments, handicaps, and lessons.
- Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications for club programs and services.
Requirements
Required:
- PGA Member, in good standing
- Proficiency in golf management software, such as Jonas
- Knowledge of USGA rules, tournament operations, and golf instruction techniques
Preferred:
- Previous experience at a private or semi-private club
- Bachelor Degree
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven track record of providing high-level member service
- Familiarity with merchandising and retail sales
- High Level Work Ethic
Summary
As a member of the Professional Golf Staff, you will assist in delivering an exceptional golf experience to members and guests and providing a high level of support in all aspects of the golf operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop your professional PGA career at a year-round nationally recognized course. This role directly assists the Head Golf Professional and 1st Assistant in budget and operational functions of the Golf Shop.
