Job Description:

Longcliffe Golf Club is considered the finest golf club in Leicestershire and is the host of many county and Midland competitions. With its favoured location on the lower slopes of the historic and scenic Charnwood Forest, its offers 18 holes of beautiful but challenging golf.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Gardener to be a part of the Club’s staff who will contribute to the maintenance of the Club house surrounds, in accordance with the golf clubs Course Policy document and Health and Safety Policy.

This is a part-time contract, ideally 3 days a week, 4 hours per day (12 hours per week). Salary will be minimum wage. Desired start date is 10th March 2025 with 3 months probation.

Work Involves:

· Mowing around clubhouse, putting green, foot cleaner (weekly).

· Tidying and weeding flower beds by putting green and 15th tee (monthly).

· Check / Remove weeds / grass from artificial paths [1st tee, Pro-Shop, Practice area] (monthly).

· Blowing carparks, patio and paths and outside Office (weekly).

· Hedge cutting (twice a year).

· Strimming and generally tidying car-parks (monthly).

· Litter picking car parks, surrounds and drive-way (weekly).

· Flower beds outside kitchen / events room (monthly).

· Keeping ball machine area clean and tidy (monthly).

· Check entrance road for litter / clean signs (monthly).

· Paint entrance stones (yearly).

· Check hanging baskets and water system (monthly).

· Clean (remove cobwebs) from trolley shed (twice a year).

· Ditch strimming - course (1 day a week).

· Gutters (buggy store, greens shed) (twice a year).

· Other general 'Surrounds' or adhoc work requests from Office or Head Greenkeeper.

The successful applicant should ideally have;

· Understanding of gardens / horticulture.

· Full physical mobility as work will be outside and will involve different inclines, positions and ladders.

· An understanding and mindset towards health and safety.

· The ability to use your own initiative when needed.

· Pesticide and weed control license or training.
