The Orchard Golf & Country Club located Clarkesville, GA is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Situated next to the Chattahoochee National Forest at the base of the Appalachian Mountains, The Orchard Golf & Country Club is nestled amid apple orchards, annual flowering trees, shrubs, and cool running mountain streams. The creeks that wind throughout the property sustained the working cattle farm and apple orchard it once was and are now home to deer and other wildlife. The Orchard Golf & Country Club features 18 holes of golf, a driving range, swimming pool, tennis and pickleball courts, and is open six days per week.
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is a highly responsible and professional position who works in the planning and implementation of the golf course maintenance in order to keep the course in the best possible playing condition on a year-round basis.
The Assistant’s chief responsibility is in directing, coordinating and supervising the maintenance crew and serving as the delegation and communication link between the superintendent and the crew. In addition, the Assistant must keep accurate records of the weather and relate it to maintenance needs. The incumbent must function as an active worker on such projects as fertilization, application of chemicals, construction and mechanics as well as take responsibility for purchasing and budgeting as needed.

- Assures that course is properly maintained.

- Prepares or maintains administrative work.
It is recommended that the employee have two years of golf course maintenance work experience and have a degree in agronomy is preferred however not necessary. This employee is required to possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable record and personal, reliable transportation. The flexibility to works evenings, weekends and holidays is essential.
