Belfair Property Owners Association has an exceptional opportunity for a Lead Golf Professional to join our team.

We boast two Fazio-designed 18-hole championship golf courses, as well as a state-of-the-art Learning Center, that is ranked among the top 50 practice ranges in the country. Belfair hosts 72,000 rounds per year including over 100-member golf tournaments.
This pivotal role assists in overseeing daily golf operations, ensuring exceptional member and guest experiences, and supporting the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf in managing all golf-related programs and services.
Key responsibilities include supervising staff, organizing tournaments, coordinating instructional programs, and maintaining the highest service standards to enhance the club’s golf experience.
The Lead Assistant Role will have the opportunity to transition into the Head Professional role within the first year.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the overall management of golf operations, including tee time management, pace of play, and customer service.
- Supervise and provide leadership to golf shop staff, outside service personnel, and golf instructors.
- Organize and execute member tournaments, club events, and outings, ensuring seamless operations and outstanding experiences.
- Manage golf merchandise, including inventory control, purchasing, and sales, in coordination with the Director of Golf.
- Ensure adherence to club policies, procedures, and golf etiquette standards.
- Works closely with the Superintendent and the Food and Beverage Manager on a daily basis to ensure timely communication and to establish a good working relationship.
- Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
- Assist with budget development and financial management for the golf department.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with members and guests, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices to continually improve golf experience.
- Support golf course maintenance efforts by coordinating with the agronomy team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- PGA Class A Certification required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in golf operations, preferably at a private club or resort.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of golf shop operations, tournament management, and instruction programs.
- Proficiency in golf technology, point-of-sale systems, and tournament software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Passion for the game of golf and a commitment to providing exceptional member experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment requiring multitasking and problem-solving skills.
