HISTORY
LIV Golf launched in 2022 as an eight-event Invitational Series with tournaments across the U.S., Europe and Asia. 2023 saw the first official season of the LIV Golf League, establishing the sport’s first professional golf teams captained by many of the game’s most decorated superstars competing in 14 events around the world.
The format respects golf’s history and traditions with updates for modern-day sports fans; three days, 54 holes, no cut, shotgun start, and simultaneous team and individual competitions, offering a faster tournament that drives engaging storylines and offers an immersive fan experience. The League’s award-winning events, each wholly owned and operated by LIV Golf and broadcast to over 500 million homes worldwide, showcase world-class competition within a family-friendly environment. Music entertainment, live concerts and a festival-style atmosphere play a signature role with LIV Golf, a two-time winner of the World’s Best Golf Event from the World Golf Awards and a Sports Business Awards Finalist for Sports Event of the Year.
LIV Golf continues to expand its reach by bringing the League to new and returning markets featuring some of the most iconic venues in the world. It has also introduced free agency to professional golf, integrating end-of-season player promotion and relegation, team trades and offseason roster movement that drive year-round fan engagement embraced by many of the world’s most popular sports.

Position Overview
LIV Golf is seeking a highly motivated and versatile Legal Counsel to support a wide range of legal functions across the organization. In this role, you will provide legal guidance on day-to-day operations, manage contracts, and support various business units in the execution of LIV Golf's strategic goals. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level attorney with general legal experience looking to expand their expertise in sports, entertainment, and media law.
Key Responsibilities
- General Legal Support: Provide legal advice and support to various business units, including marketing, operations, media, partnerships, and sponsorships.
- Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad array of agreements, including sponsorships, vendor contracts, licensing, and event-related agreements.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Work closely with outside counsel to manage disputes and potential litigation, as well as assist in alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Risk Management: Identify legal risks and assist in developing strategies to mitigate those risks in various business operations.
- Intellectual Property & Media: Assist as needed with intellectual property matters.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including marketing, business development, and finance, to support initiatives and projects that align with LIV Golf's mission and growth.
- Qualifications
Experience
- 3-5 years of general legal experience at a law firm or in-house legal department. Experience with sports, media, entertainment, or intellectual property law is a plus but not required.
- Legal Skills: Strong experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal research. General understanding of corporate governance and compliance issues.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of identifying legal issues and proactively finding practical, business-oriented solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in at least one U.S. state.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest or experience in the sports industry or entertainment law.
- Experience with licensing, intellectual property, or media-related legal matters.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
