History
LIV Golf launched in 2022 as an eight-event Invitational Series with tournaments across the U.S., Europe and Asia. 2023 saw the first official season of the LIV Golf League, establishing the sport’s first professional golf teams captained by many of the game’s most decorated superstars competing in 14 events around the world.
The format respects golf’s history and traditions with updates for modern-day sports fans; three days, 54 holes, no cut, shotgun start, and simultaneous team and individual competitions, offering a faster tournament that drives engaging storylines and offers an immersive fan experience. The League’s award-winning events, each wholly owned and operated by LIV Golf and broadcast to over 500 million homes worldwide, showcase world-class competition within a family-friendly environment. Music entertainment, live concerts and a festival-style atmosphere play a signature role with LIV Golf, a two-time winner of the World’s Best Golf Event from the World Golf Awards and a Sports Business Awards Finalist for Sports Event of the Year.
LIV Golf continues to expand its reach by bringing the League to new and returning markets featuring some of the most iconic venues in the world. It has also introduced free agency to professional golf, integrating end-of-season player promotion and relegation, team trades and offseason roster movement that drive year-round fan engagement embraced by many of the world’s most popular sports.
Away from the entertainment on the course, LIV Golf is dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of the communities it visits through its ground-breaking social impact and sustainability strategy, ‘Potential, Unleashed.’ Named a 2024 Most Impactful award winner by Front Office Sports for utilizing its platform to make a positive impact off the course, the League is committed to giving back and improving the world through golf.
Role Objective
The Director, Corporate Communications will be responsible for a variety of workflows involving external and internal communications with LIV Golf. They will work intimately with the Communications team and associated stakeholders on all matters related to LIV Golf corporate communications, league partnerships, brand communications, impact and sustainability initiatives, media relations, employee communications and more.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Communications team on a comprehensive strategy that drives brand interest and awareness, showcases League innovation, informs media and fans, and inspires employees
- Design and carry out communications plans that amplify the League’s continued growth and impact across key business areas including sponsorships, broadcast, and product development
- Build, take ownership and execute an internal communications strategy that ensures all LIV Golf employees and departments are updated on company news, announcements and events, including communications throughout the LIV Golf League and its teams
- Manage communications for LIV Golf’s impact and sustainability platform Potential, Unleashed, including strategically creating and executing communications plans that effectively support league and team charitable impact on a global scale
- Build and nurture relationships with local, national and international news outlets and storytellers, including both traditional and non-traditional media, that strengthen the League’s brand and business
- Draft messaging for internal stakeholders and external audiences, including talking points, newsletters, press releases, social media copy, and more
- Help oversee media monitoring and coverage analysis of LIV Golf storylines and provide counsel on how to capitalize on current affairs and trends
- Ensure synchronization of communication efforts across departments to align overarching business objectives
- Effectively manage relationships with third party agencies and partners

Experience
- Proven track record with 10+ years of experience in Communications and/or Public Relations, preferably within sports for a league, franchise or college/university
- Advanced-level degree, preferably in Communications
- Highly-polished communication and writing skills. Ideally, a personable character who is able to interact and communicate across all cultures and business levels, internally and externally
- Strong capability to conceptualize and develop content for publication and edit material prepared by others as needed
- Experience in an extremely fast-paced and evolving environment, given the start-up nature of LIV Golf
- A self-starter possessing a strong news sense and a proven ability to tell impactful stories
- Have a passion for sports, entertainment and culture
- Proven creativity with a knack for generating original ideas
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate across departments within LIV to deliver strategic objectives
- Strong business acumen, results-oriented and ability to act quickly and decisively with good judgement
- Enthusiastic approach to managing competing priorities
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel if necessary
