HISTORY
LIV Golf launched in 2022 as an eight-event Invitational Series with tournaments across the U.S., Europe and Asia. 2023 saw the first official season of the LIV Golf League, establishing the sport’s first professional golf teams captained by many of the game’s most decorated superstars competing in 14 events around the world.
The format respects golf’s history and traditions with updates for modern-day sports fans; three days, 54 holes, no cut, shotgun start, and simultaneous team and individual competitions, offering a faster tournament that drives engaging storylines and offers an immersive fan experience. The League’s award-winning events, each wholly owned and operated by LIV Golf and broadcast to over 500 million homes worldwide, showcase world-class competition within a family-friendly environment. Music entertainment, live concerts and a festival-style atmosphere play a signature role with LIV Golf, a two-time winner of the World’s Best Golf Event from the World Golf Awards and a Sports Business Awards Finalist for Sports Event of the Year.
LIV Golf continues to expand its reach by bringing the League to new and returning markets featuring some of the most iconic venues in the world. Role Objective
The Manager, Event Operations & Strategy, reports to the SVP, Head of The International Series, and is responsible for managing all aspects of event delivery at The International Series, through liaising with IS Staff, the Event Management Companies overseeing each event and some key suppliers. As the Manager, Event Operations at LIV Golf, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of IS events, which includes enhancing fan, staff, volunteer and player experiences through daily coordination with all stakeholders. Additionally, you can expect to be included in International Series strategy to develop, improve and grow The International Series brand, loyalty and image in the world of professional golf.
Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to the creation of and adherence of a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) for all International Series events.
- Develop and foster meaningful relationships with the event management company, host club/venue, government/civic entities, and other golf-related organizations. Interfaces with the event management company and community leaders to foster the overall impression and perception of the event and the Series in the community.
- Contribute to departmental operations, including budget creation, management/cost containment and internal communication.
- Assumes fiscal accountability for the success of the event and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Work with the LIV Procurement team on supplier tenders and market analysis for all supplier categories.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of events.
- Provide exceptional services by anticipating needs and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Work towards the development of a long-term strategic event delivery plan.
- Work closely with LIV Golf teams to develop systems to measure player, supplier and fan satisfaction.
- Special Projects or other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Sports Administration.
- Demonstrable event management experience required (preferably in golf).
