The Product Manufacturing Engineer will lead manufacturing/industrialization activities in the development of new golf club components. You will collaborate with overseas suppliers to ensure the delivery of industry-leading golf clubs utilizing cutting edge manufacturing techniques. You will troubleshoot and provide technical support to execute commercialization of our products as well as improve existing production processes. You’ll facilitate developmental prototype cycles and advance our manufacturing knowledge base and processes by leveraging your unique position within the supply chain.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot manufacturing failures using sound engineering problem solving
- Support the manufacturing execution to ensure product performance, conformance, durability, quality, and cost efficiency
- Manage the project and schedule, from prototype through production
- Coordinate all tooling/prototypes/first articles and subsequent evaluation through manufacturing and testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including: Design, Development, Marketing, Sourcing, and Asia Manufacturing teams
- Perform design feasibility evaluations to ensure seamless transition into high-volume manufacturing
- Perform product/process statistical analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency
- Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls
- Develop manufacturing instructions using manufacturing engineering practices
- Verify the inspection of outgoing and incoming products
- Provide production support for component assembly
- Ensure that accurate and controlled documents/specifications are generated for new product designs and manufacturing processes. Transfer engineering drawings to outside suppliers and other stakeholders
- Performs other responsibilities and tasks as required
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Knowledge of fabrication methods including Casting, Forging, Forming, Machining, Stamping, Welding and Injection Molding; Metal Fabrication experience highly preferred.
- Experience with cosmetic finishing processes including Plating, PVD, Anodizing, Painting, Powder Coating, Abrasive Polishing, and Media Blasting
- Knowledge of manufacturing tooling and fixture design/inspection is preferred
- Knowledge of computational tools including CAD, FEA, Programming Languages a plus
- Ability to efficiently integrate existing methods with new innovations
- Self-Motivated having demonstrated initiative toward professional and personal growth
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to coordinate projects with multiple stakeholder groups
- Knowledge of consumer goods and the Golf/Sporting Goods industry is a plus
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering; Master’s degree preferred
- 5-7 years of relevant experience working in a manufacturing/engineering environment
- Working knowledge of Metal Fabrication, DOE, Process Optimization, DFMEA, PFMEA and Supplier Relations
- Experience working on individual and team projects with successful results
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- Normal office conditions with extensive computer and phone usage
- Ability to work extended hours as necessary
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
- Domestic and International travel required; up to 2-week duration
- Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials
TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach tocompensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining basecompensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, andwork location. The expectedannualbase pay range for this position is$85,000 - $95,000.Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays,paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
