Responsible for the overall management and execution of the Championship Volunteer Operations program at all Member and Amateur Championships. Support Operational needs at Member & Amateur Championships. Assist the Director of Championship Volunteer Operations as needed with other projects and events to ensure the program maintains its high standards and the PGA continues to be the leader in major championship golf
RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
Lead and serve as the main point of contact for all Member and Amateur Championships in regard to all aspects of the Volunteer Programs.
Ensure the Member and Amateur Championship volunteer programs are aligned with the goals of the Spectator Championships volunteer programs, the PGA of America and the respective host club or partner organization.
Work with the respective Member and Amateur Championships staff members to establish the committee organization chart for the assigned Championships.
Responsible for the management and execution of all Member and Amateur Championship volunteer programs to include, recruiting, enrolling, educating, outfitting, scheduling, and training.
Manage the use of volunteer registration databases for various Member and Amateur Championships.
Revise and produce Volunteer Manuals/Website.
Prepare for and lead Championship Committee Training Meetings on-site.
Responsible for recruitment oversight, working closely with host-site staff to assist in finding databases of potential volunteers.
Responsible for acquiring all uniforms and credentials for volunteer programs at Member and Amateur Championships.
Create credentials for all Member & Amateur Championships.
Responsible for all aspects of uniform ordering and distribution at all Member and Amateur Championships.
Assist with drafting all volunteer communications for the Championships not limited to but should include: Welcome information, Shift Preference information, Newsletters and Social Media posts and any other communications sent to volunteers.
Support operations at any Member & Amateur Championships as assigned by the Senior Director, Member & Amatuer Championships. Operational elements could include starting, scoring, signage set-up and breakdown, etc.
Direct oversight of the on-site volunteer operations programs.

SUPERVISION:
No supervisory responsibilities.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Assist with the development of the annual budget for the Championships department. Work with the Amateur & Memberships teams to ensure the Volunteer Program is within budget guidelines for PGA Championships.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in business administration or related field.
Two years of experience in customer service, event management or volunteer administration, preferably at a Championship.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Must have knowledge of organization functions of a Championship operation with an emphasis on volunteer administration. A demonstrated understanding of Google Workspace with an emphasis in Sheets and database tools.
Judgment: Makes sound decisions; bases decisions on fact rather than emotion; analyzes problems skillfully; uses logic to reach solutions.
Initiative: Plans work and carries out tasks without detailed instructions; makes constructive suggestions; prepares problems or opportunities in advance and undertakes additional responsibilities. Responds to situations as they arise with minimal supervision and creates solutions to problems.
Ability to travel up to 25% required, including overnight travel for up to two weeks at a time. Ability to stand for extended periods of time during events.
