About this role:
We're looking for a highly organized and results-motivated Assistant Manager, Merchandise Programs and Royalties to join our Merchandise team! This role will oversee various merchandise programs, including product development, marketing, sales, royalty tracking and reporting, and inventory management across various USGA initiatives. The Assistant Manager will contribute to the departmental bottom line revenue and service goals.
What you'll do:
Sales Reports & Royalties
- Royalty Accounting: Ensureaccurate calculation, tracking, and payment of royalties from licensees, host clubs, and other royalty-bearing stakeholders.
- Contract Compliance: Review contracts to ensure royalty calculations, reporting, and payments comply with contractual terms.
- Reporting: Prepare royalty reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Auditing: Conduct internal audits of licensee royalty reports annually to ensure accuracy, compliance with contractual terms, and proper reporting of sales and payments.
- Revenue Tracking: Develop and maintain a dashboard to monitor revenue streams, anddetect discrepancies.
USGAcardshop
- Annual Goal Setting: Participate in annual strategy discussions with licensee to align on sales goals, product development priorities, marketing timelines, and plans for emails, direct mail, and promotional campaigns.
- Product Approval: Review and approve all products to ensure alignment with sales goals, brand guidelines and previous sales history.
- Marketing: Collaborate with the internal marketing team and licensee to develop and execute marketing plans for the cardshop, utilizing both digital and traditional channels.
- Department Orders: Coordinate with departments to fulfill internal orders efficiently and accurately.
- Sales Reporting: Track sales data which will inform strategy and identify areas for improvement.
U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open Commemorative Tickets
- Product Development: Partner with marketing and creative services teams to ensure the development of the Commemorative Tickets annually.
- Sales Integration: Work to have Commemorative Tickets available for sale across various channels, including championship ticketing platforms, USGA-own digital channels and third-party e-commerce, to maximize reach.
- Marketing:Assist with the development of the marketing strategy and support the execution of marketing campaigns to promote commemorative ticket sales.
- Sales Reporting: Track performance weekly by channel and suggest marketing plan revisions, as needed, to reach sales goals.
USGA Publications
- Product Assortment: Collaborate with internal teams to curate and maintain the optimal product assortment online.
- Sales Tracking: Monitor and report on publication sales in order to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.
- Marketing: Collaborate with marketing teams to assist in the development and execution of campaigns that drive publication sales and enhance visibility.
- Inventory Oversight: Ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained across multiple locations to meet demand while minimizing overstock and inefficiencies.
Miscellaneous
- Support the Manager, E-Commerce and Manager, Sales & Marketing Operations with various tasks and projects as needed.
- Assist with ad hoc projects that contribute to the efficiency and success of merchandise operations.
- Travel up to three weeks annually to support on-site merchandise operations at the U.S. Open Championships, ensuring seamless execution.
What you bring:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field.
- 3+ years experience in e-commerce, sales management, marketing, business development, relationship management or a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work effectively and efficiently across departments and with external partners.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Where you'll be:
- This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are expected to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday. This role will also be expected to travel up to three weeks annually to support on-site merchandise operations at the U.S. Open Championships.
