Overview
This position will work with our retiring Superintendent for the 2025 golf season. It is planned that the selected individual will assume all Superintend management responsibilities before the end of the 2025 season. This is a working Superintendent position, where the majority of the individual’s time is spent either out on the course or working in the maintenance shop.
This position reports directly to the GreyStone General Manager.
The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for managing the operations of the course in terms of turf grass, greens, roughs and bunker support. The position will ensure the overall playability and appearance of the course, align with stakeholders’ expectations.
Essential Responsibilities
Coordinating with the General Manager, to develop and manage the golf course annual budget. This process will include the forecast for expenses, as well as updating the budget with actuals as they develop.
Develop all plans and schedules required to support the best conditions possible for the golf course within the yearly budget structure.
Supervise the maintenance staff. This will include applying training as required, in addition to scheduling both personnel and equipment as needed on a daily and weekly basis.
Distribute, collect and audit all maintenance staff timecards. Once audited, sign-off on each submitted timecard, and submit same to the General Manager for payment
The Superintendent is responsible for verifying the quantity and dollar amount for course maintenance supplies (e.g. fertilizer, and chemicals). All invoices are to be signed as approved by the Superintendent before payment.
Maintain records of all maintenance activity regarding irrigation, fertilizer application and all other chemical use.
Work with outside vendors as required for specialized support of equipment and processes outside the scope of expertise of existing staff.
Greystone golf club has the expectation that the Superintendent will exercise good stewardship as it relates to environmental impact and water use.
The Superintendent is the sole responsible authority for the irrigation system. This includes the operation, programming and maintenance/repair of the entire system.
This position is responsible for identifying and mitigation of all turf diseases as found in any turf areas (fairways, greens and roughs). This includes pest control.
The Superintendent is responsible for safety and compliance requirements as it relates to golf course environmental standards.
Work with other golf course staff and management to support tournaments and other golf course events.
Will also perform other activities as assigned by the General Manager.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance and groundskeeping
- Strong supervisory skills with a background in team leadership
- Proficiency in lawn care, irrigation systems, and horticulture
- Knowledge of tree care and gardening techniques
- Experience in construction and maintenance of golf course facilities
- Ability to manage and maintain high-quality turf and landscapes

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
