Position Summary:
Contra Costa Country Club is seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented Assistant Golf Professional to join our professional staff. This role will focus on Tournament Operations, including managing association play, coordinating weekly events, and ensuring a seamless experience for members and guests. Additional responsibilities include merchandising support, club fitting, and assisting with junior golf programs.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of green grass golf course experience and be actively enrolled in the PGA PGM Associate Program, with progress toward becoming a Class A PGA Professional. Exceptional customer service skills and a proven ability to enhance member satisfaction are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tournament & Event Operations
- Manage and oversee tournament preparation using Golf Genius Tournament Management Software
- Coordinate weekly association play and club events
- Handle event setup, pairings, scoring, course setup, and prize distribution
- Ensure smooth communication with members and staff regarding events
- Golf Shop & Merchandising Support
- Assist with inventory management, merchandising, and sales
- Maintain a well-stocked and organized golf shop
- Provide club fitting services and assist with special orders
- Player Development & Junior Golf
- Support junior golf programs, camps, and PGA Junior League
- Assist with individual and group instruction
- Play with members to foster engagement and development
- Member & Guest Experience
- Maintain a professional and welcoming presence in the golf shop and on the course
- Provide exceptional customer service to enhance member satisfaction
- Act as a starter when necessary and monitor pace of play
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience at a green grass golf facility
- Enrolled in PGA PGM Associate Program with progress toward PGA Class A Membership
- Experience with Golf Genius Tournament Management Software is REQUIRED
- Knowledge of club fitting and golf equipment
- Experience in junior golf programs is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS systems
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Wage: $19.00 - $24.00/hour DOE
- Total Anticipated Compensation: $57,000 - $72,500
