Our extensive refurbishment programme includes expanding and upgrading the property to see it repositioned as one of the best hotels in Scotland and an international destination. Plans include new luxury woodland lodges, revitalised golf, spa leisure facilities, and a refurbishment of our guestrooms and public spaces.
As we embark on this thrilling new chapter, we are searching for a skilled and dedicated Spa Leisure Director to join our team and be a part of this exciting new world.
Scope of the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Spa Leisure Director with a proven track record of implementing successful strategies that drive measurable results. This individual will be responsible for identifying and executing innovative Spa Leisure programs that align with industry trends, enhance guest and member retention, and drive revenue growth.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with the ability to develop a high-performing team, ensuring exceptional service standards and operational excellence. Working as part of the senior management team, the Spa Leisure Director will be instrumental in delivering a world-class experience while achieving strong commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement innovative Spa Leisure programs to attract new guests and retain existing members.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Drive revenue performance through strategic planning, product development, and quality management initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the Commercial Director and Marketing Director to design and execute effective sales and marketing campaigns.
- Define and drive Spa residential and non-residential packages, ensuring alignment with market trends and guest expectations.
- Develop and execute membership recruitment and retention strategies for the Leisure Club.
- Provide accurate monthly revenue forecasts for spa treatments, packages, and memberships.
- Lead proactive sales and marketing initiatives to meet and exceed agreed financial targets.
- Establish team targets for treatments and retail sales, creating incentives to enhance performance.
- Maintain budgetary control, managing payroll and costs effectively.
- Generate and analyse detailed reports on member usage, spa attendance, and class participation to inform decision-making.
- Present financial performance updates at Head of Department meetings, addressing variances promptly.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and operational efficiency across all Spa Leisure facilities.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement, ensuring meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of service delivery.
- Establish and enforce standard operating procedures to maintain clarity, consistency, and safety across all operations.
- Ensure team members meet key performance indicators, addressing any discrepancies swiftly.
- Foster guest and member engagement through a strong presence in Spa Leisure areas, maintaining regular interactions and ensuring premium service.
- Handle guest complaints effectively, ensuring prompt resolution to maintain satisfaction and revenue integrity.
- Maintain a feedback mechanism with actionable improvements to enhance service quality continuously.
- Ensure the Spa Leisure team provides expert advice and guidance to guests and members at all times.
- Oversee payroll budget and staff scheduling, ensuring efficient rota management that meets business demands while aligning with KPIs.
- Identify individual training needs and implement tailored development plans for staff.
The Ideal Spa Leisure Director:
- A minimum of 5 years in a luxury spa, hotel, or similar high-end environment.
- At least 3 years in a senior management role within the Spa Leisure industry, demonstrating progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Relevant qualifications in Spa Leisure management, such as NVQ Level 4 or higher.
- Advanced training or certifications in specific spa brands, wellness programs, or hospitality management.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sales and marketing strategies within the Spa Leisure sector.
- Extensive experience in retail management, including inventory control, merchandising, and achieving revenue targets.
- In-depth knowledge of spa operations, wellness trends, and guest service excellence.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in spa management software, booking systems, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team development skills.
