Responsibilities
- Assist in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation and presentation.
- Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, following all food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food safety practices.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to specifications and served promptly.
- Manage shift schedules, ensuring adequate staffing during peak hours.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service management or as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen.
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Experience working within a dietary department is a plus.
- Bartending skills are advantageous for menu development involving beverages.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
