Our R&D group has an opening for a Test Technician to join our Advanced Design Team in Asia working in the Asia Durability Test Lab. We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Test Technician to join our Durability Test Lab. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, conducting, and reporting on various durability tests to ensure the quality and endurance of our products. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, excellent communication and organization skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This position will be based Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate durability testing equipment and machinery according to test specifications.
- Conduct a variety of products for durability testing, including MW, IH, Putter and Wedge to assess their performance and reliability.
- Record and analyze test data, identifying any deviations or anomalies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed test records and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with testing equipment and test procedures.
- Assist in the development and improvement of test methods and procedures.
- Ensure all testing is conducted in compliance with industry standards and company protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to provide feedback on test results.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Proven experience in durability testing, preferably in [relevant industry, e.g., automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics].
- Hands-on experience with operating and maintaining mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, equipment, and standards.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods is a plus.
- Experience with test automation and software tools is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration: Fluent in English (written and oral), have excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization globally (R&D, engineering, production, legal, product marketing, suppliers, technicians, etc.); and be able to collaborate and communicate across countries and time zones effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of golf principles and associated terminology is a plus.
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in engineering, materials science, or a related field. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- 1-3 years’ work experience directly related to the essential duties and responsibilities described above; golf industry related experience is a plus, but not required.
- Proficiency with testing equipment and machinery, data acquisition systems, and software. Familiarity with industry standards and test methods.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to interpret and analyze test data.
- Good* written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prepare detailed reports and documentation.
- Ability to lift and move testing samples up to 10 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office environment, but also on factory floor and manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work extended hours as necessary.
- Light physical effort equals frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
- The environment may include moderate to high noise levels during machine operation. Appropriate PPE will be provided.
