SUMMARY
Oversees and maintains all facets of the golf operation. Provides professional support, direction, management, training, and leadership to golf staff associates. Promotes and nurtures member & customer relations to enhance the quality of the golf experience. Responsible for day to day golf operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans promotes and oversees all golf operations including: tournaments, rules, tee sheet activity, range operations, player service operations, cart fleet, and may assist with other areas as assigned.
- Creates a customer service orientated atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of the membership and guest play. Ensures that associates provide a high level of customer service that meets Pronghorn Golf Club standards.
- Works closely with the Superintendent and other resort departments on a daily basis to ensure timely communication and to establish a good working relationship.

- Monitors hours to maximize productivity and minimize overtime.
- Provides leadership and vision to the golf staff.
- Trains staff in order for career advancement.
- Works closely with the Director of Instruction
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Assistant and Associate Golf Professionals, Guest Service Attendants as required.
- Assures effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
- Monitor business volume forecasts and plans in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.
- Directly responsible for all tournament and special event activities to include promotion, communication, administration, budget management, and detailed summary for event evaluations to enhance future planning.
- Directly responsible for learning all aspects of the point of sale system and automated tee time system (Ez inks), training and supervision of the staff regarding protocols as established by the club.
- Education of resort rules & policy and its enforcement to members in the appropriate manner.
- Anticipating potential problems & opportunities with problem solving approach.
- Abide by all provisions of established safety programs. Assist in developing and communicating emergency and safety procedures.
- Assist in the promotion of various functions within the bylaws and policies of the resort, which will generate operating revenues and create member interest.
- Interprets and enforces golf rules and regulations along with other resort policies
- Ensure proper and ethical procurement of products and vendors who provide not only the best pricing options, but also meet the service standards and products in line with the business requirements.
- Maintains a professional standard at Juniper Preserve/Pronghorn Golf Club including, but not limited to, appearance, interaction with members, associates, guests of the resort, verbal discussions and written correspondence.
- Maintains positive attitude and the flexibility to take on new and different tasks as assigned by the Director of Golf.
- Able to effectively handle multiple tasks.
- Conducts monthly departmental communications meetings with staff.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Golf Hospitality, Internet technologies and Microsoft Office products.
- Must have extensive and thorough knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
- Experience with computerized POS, tee time system and tournament management systems.
