Responsible for outside guest services (carts, bags, range balls), guest relations, bag drop, club/shoe rentals, practice facility, and cart staging area.
Essential Duties:
- Delivers and promotes the Spirit of Aloha and courteous and professional service to all golfers.
- Prepares carts, bags, and practice facilities for daily play.
- Ensures customer satisfaction and positive relations through engagement with all guests and golfers.
- Works closely with inside golf staff and starters to provide a superior guest experience.
- Drives golf carts and range picker in a safe manner and approved areas at all times.
- Empties trash receptacles as needed.
- Reports any equipment issues promptly.
- Manages the golf club and shoe rental program by verifying rental count; reporting broken or missing clubs promptly; and keeping all rental equipment clean and organized.
- Washes and details golf carts after each round and reports any damages to management.
- Monitors golf supplies (tees, pencils, scorecards, water, towel, range balls etc.) and reports deficiencies to the manager in a timely manner.
- Works with management to stage all groups/outings and prepares assists in the preparation of equipment and the facility for these events.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
- Performs other duties as required on either the Plantation or the Bay Golf courses.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently stands, walks, uses hands and arms to reach and grab, talks, or hears. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
- Regularly lifts 40 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 60 pounds in a safe and trained manner.
- Specific vision capabilities required: close vision. distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception, and the ability to focus.
Environment/Noise:
- Regularly works in hot or humid conditions. Occasionally works in areas with moving mechanical parts; may come into contact with fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
Certificates/Licenses:
- Valid Hawaii Driver’s License
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Should have an in-depth knowledge of the game of golf.
