This position will offer exposure into the operations, administration, Rules of Golf and volunteer program at our various Championships.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
Provide operational function/support in course preparations, which may include but not limited to, course marking, rope and stake installation, course signage and on course leader boards.
Provide administrative function/support, computer scoring operations (Golf Genius) and communication support for PGA Member, Spectator and Amateur Championships as assigned.
Assist with all Championship event shipping and receiving.
Assist with organizing set ups of temporary on-site Championship Offices.
Assist with Championship volunteer operations.
When the event is completed, assist the Championship Department Staff with the breakdown of the course, offices, volunteer headquarters and other areas to be determined at site.
Assist with the unpacking and packing of the two semi-trailers for events the intern is working.
Assist Championship Department Staff elsewhere when needed.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, or equivalent. Must be a rising Junior and above enrolled in a degree program or recent college graduate.
Golf background or strong interest in golf required
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Job Knowledge/Technology: Must have knowledge of business operations with an emphasis in administrative support, finance and/or operations. Working knowledge of computer design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
Ability to travel for extended periods in various modes of transportation which will include overnight travel, at times in excess of 7 nights at a time (when at the event site) required, Ability to work overtime, including weekends (sometimes up to 15 hours a day). Ability to transport moderately heavy tournament equipment and supplies.

PGA Club Championship – Reynolds Lake Oconee – Greensboro, Georgia (March)
PGA Professional Championship, PGA Golf Club (April)
PGA Championship – Quail Hollow GC, Charlotte, North Carolina (May)

Past interns have secured jobs with the PGA of America Championship Department along with the PGA Tour and have become Head Golf Professionals at prestigious courses in the country.

January 6 - February 20: Winter Championships - PGA Golf Club - Florida ~60 OT hours
February 24 - March 12: PGA Club Championship - Reynolds - Georgia ~50 OT hours
April 14 - May 2: PGA Professional Championship - PGA Golf Club - Florida ~60 OT hours
May 6 - May 19: PGA Championship - Quail Hollow - North Carolina ~70 OT hours
Hourly Rate:$13.00 per hour
Length of Intern: 4 ½ months
