Head Coach – Concordia University Men's and Women’s Golf
Position Summary
Concordia University invites applicants to the position of full-time Head Coach Men's and Women’s Golf program in the CUW Athletics Department at the CUW Mequon, WI campus. The purpose of this position is to fulfill the university's mission to help students develop in mind, body and spirit by instructing student athletes, equipping them with strategies and techniques to help them realize success in athletics, academics and social experiences. This position is responsible for the following: the organization, coordination, supervision and implementation of the assigned sports program; the scouting and recruiting players; the well-being and safety of the players. The Head Coach reports to the to the Director of Athletics.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiate, schedule, coordinate and conduct scheduled practices
- Demonstrate Christian concern for athlete's academic, athletic, social and spiritual development
- Instruct and educate athletes in the sport of golf
- Monitor conduct of athletes in compliance with CU rules and polices
- Ensure supplies, vehicles, food, lodging and other arrangements and/or purchases for program are provided
- Recruit athletes to sports program in coordination with Admission Department and Director of Athletics
- Supervise assistant coaches
- Coordinate with the Director of Athletics in management of home and away contests
- Formulate and administer a budget for sports program and manages expenditures
- Abide by and enforce NCAA and NAAC (Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference)
- May perform other duties as assigned

- Professional communication skills including public speaking
- Knowledge of trends in sport and coaching
- Knowledge of safety equipment and rules and regulations associated with sport
- Demonstrated effective leadership, coaching and recruiting skills
- Excellent organizational abilities, professional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule
- Knowledge in the trends of the respective sport
- Available evenings and weekends
- Occasional overnight travel
- Ability to travel with teams to contests, practices pre and post season competition international recruiting travel
- Exhibits a willingness and ability to work with diverse individuals and organizations
- Able to deal with interruptions and work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to present a Christian and professional manner
- Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)
Education & Experience
- 3-5 years coaching experience -- college or university preferred or closely related work or specific experience, skill set and/or training in area
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or specific experience, skill set and/or training in area of expertise
- Master's Degree in related field preferred
Compensation & Benefits
