Position Summary:
The Senior Engineer Core Infrastructure position provides technical expertise in infrastructure engineering that facilitates all infrastructure services and operations for TaylorMade. This position is responsible for maintaining the security, availability, performance, capacity, backups, efficiency, and business continuity for our core infrastructure environment. This includes incident management, patching management, lifecycle management, and vendor management. Expertise is required in Linux, Windows OS, Active Directory, data storage platforms, backup software, server hardware, virtualization, and hyperconverged platforms. The Senior Engineer Core Infrastructure is also accountable for system architecture and documentation.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Manage the future direction of on-premise IT infrastructure in support of company goals
Support operations and continuous improvement of infrastructure services (AD, DFS, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, SCCM, Radius, NFS, Certificate Management, Network Access Management, printing services)
Collaborate with regional infrastructure managers to create and maintain global infrastructure documentation and standardization
Work with regional infrastructure managers to enable cross-training in operational management
Provide technical evaluations, consulting, design for projects as required by the business.
Possess expert knowledge in Microsoft server OS or Linux and working knowledge in the other
Perform all aspects of VM creation, application and OS patching, service monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management for infrastructure within the enterprise.
Design, maintain, test and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans for regional infrastructure services.
Manage incident management and performance issue resolution in a complex geographically distributed environment.
Maintain a customer service mindset with an understanding of infrastructure services impact on business operations
Conduct analyses to assess usage of industry best practices, opportunities for cost savings, and optimization of operational efficiency.
Update and leverage centralized information management systems (e.g., CMDB, ticket systems, architecture diagrams, standard procedures, etc.)
Serve as a task leader, providing project technical and management support, including defining project scope, requirements, solutions, and deliverables; consulting with customers, working groups and experts as needed; implementing plans to meet goals and objectives; providing recommendations to coordinate and integrate activities, resolve complex problems impacting project and activities.
Evaluate and suggest emerging technologies.
Make changes or manage incidents on nights, weekends and holidays if the business or an outage determines the need.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Infrastructure services, such as LDAP, DFS, Active Directory, FTP,
Networking knowledge and understanding of DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, IPAM
Knowledge of Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol (SCEP) and Public Key Cryptography Standards (PKCS)
Administrator level knowledge of hyperconverged virtualization environments
Highly proficient in patch management software tools (Yum, Ksplice, SCCM, Satellite, etc.)
Demonstrate the ability to stay on task and on topic, especially during high stress outages.
Must have the proven ability to frame complex systems or network problems in a concise way and work with the team to develop an approach for breaking the problem down into manageable pieces.
Ability to set and meet schedule goals and tasks.
Excellent relationship building and customer-focused skills, including the ability to develop and nurture productive relationships with IT peers and business colleagues
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to work in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to plan and schedule work
Knowledge of ITIL framework or similar models for IT workflow, DevOps culture, methodologies and technologies, Data privacy laws and practices
Familiar with data protection technology and solutions
Experience with MS SQL Server and/or MySQL
Experience with vendor management
Experience with orchestration and automation software tools
Experience with PowerShell, Perl, Python or other programming languages for automation
Experience with Azure, OCI, or AWS a plus
Network experience with firewalls, load balancers, switching and routing a plus
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related technical degrees (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics), Master degree preferred
10+ years’ of relevant work experience
Experience with:
Windows Server and Linux server operating system administration
Server hardware experience
Backup management
Virtualized server environments
5 to 7 years of data storage experience
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
Primarily office environment, consistent computer use
Ability to work extended hours as necessary.
Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach to compensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected annual base pay range for this position is $130K – $140K. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
