LIV Golf League
LIV Golf Investments is a newly formed company, with group companies in the USA and UK. In 2022, LIV Golf launched the LIV Golf Invitational Series, an eight-event series taking place in the USA, UK, Asia and the Middle East with the world’s best golfers competing in an innovative new format featuring simultaneous team and individual play. Each tournament consists of three rounds, 54 holes, no cut and shotgun starts, with players vying for unprecedented prize purses. In 2023, the LIV Golf League will officially launch with 48 players and 12 established team franchises competing in a 14-tournament schedule that will expand LIV Golf’s global footprint across North and Latin Americas, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Europe. LIV Golf is the first-ever global golf league committed to the sport’s worldwide growth, with enhanced player pathways through the International Series, a ground-breaking series of events launched in 2022 through the Asian Tour. The League is also dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of communities through LIV to Give, LIV Golf’s global impact platform announced in June with a $100 million commitment to develop and support social and environmental initiatives in tournament host communities around the world.
Role Objective:
Reporting directly to the Team’s General Manager, the Director of Strategic Operations is responsible for the overall efficiency and productivity of the Team. This role works closely with the General Manager to ensure business objectives are met, developing and implementing strategies to drive growth in commercial opportunities, operational excellence, and business compliance.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Shape and deliver both performance and business strategies, balancing the team’s on-course success with commercial growth.
- Build out insights and operational expertise to help achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and business growth targets.
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Lead financial planning, budget management, and resource allocation, working closely with the finance team to analyze financial reports and optimize spending.
- Build out the evaluation of new revenue streams, including content business, sponsorships, ticketing management, and prize money.
Compliance and Governance
- Build out a deep understanding of legal requirements, League rules and regulations, and team policies, ensuring the team operates in full compliance at all times.
- Manage all reporting requirements, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Prepare materials and directs follow-up action items for board meetings.
Commercial Revenue Generation
- Identify and capitalize on business opportunities to generate revenue.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all sponsorship deliverables are met.
- Collaborate with the content team to enhance media visibility, grow fan engagement, and develop innovative commercial strategies for the Rippers.
Fan and Media Engagement
- Support the development of fan engagement strategies and manage media requests, working closely with the marketing and content teams.
Team and Player Relations
- Develop strong relationships with players, caddies, and support staff, fostering an environment that supports both performance and personal well-being.
- Collaborate with GM, and support staff to ensure alignment on strategy and objectives, and address any performance or logistical needs.
Contracts and Vendor Management
- Facilitate contract needs with legal counsel, overseeing drafting, approval, and execution of agreements.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers, consultants, and agencies, ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
Operational Excellence
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement by analyzing data, identifying trends, and implementing best practices.
- Collaborate with the General Manager in establishing a high-performance culture focused on excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless collaboration between performance objectives and business goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Finance, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree (MBA preferred) or advanced certification in business or sports management is a strong asset.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in strategic operations, business management, or a similar role, preferably within the sports, entertainment, or media sectors.
- Proven track record of driving business growth through strategic planning, financial management, and operational excellence.
- Experience in managing large budgets and working with cross-functional teams to meet financial targets and optimize resource allocation.
- Strong understanding of commercial revenue generation, sponsorship deals, content monetization, and fan engagement strategies.
- Experience in compliance, governance, and managing regulatory requirements within a league or team environment.
- Demonstrated success in managing stakeholder relationships, both internal and external, including vendors, sponsors, and media.
- Solid experience in managing contracts and vendor relationships, with the ability to lead negotiations and ensure contract compliance.

- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and align teams towards common goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with an ability to interpret data and apply insights to drive operational improvements.
- High level of business acumen and financial literacy, with a strong grasp of financial analysis and budgeting processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, balance strategic objectives with day-to-day operational needs, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to deliver results in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Other Requirements:
- Deep understanding of the sports industry, including knowledge of league operations, sponsorship, and team performance dynamics.
- Willingness to travel as needed and work flexible hours, including weekends, in alignment with team and event schedules.
