The Director of Product Creation - Category Lead is a strategic leader responsible for driving the overall vision, growth, and profitability of a specific product category within the organization. The Director will lead the design and product efforts in the defined category across TaylorMade brands throughout all regions with heavy focus on performance, innovation and hot products. Leads cross-functional teams to drive the creation of product concepts and innovations within defined category, including process and concept creation. This role involves overseeing a multidisciplinary team, setting, and executing product development and marketing strategies, managing the product lifecycle, and ensuring alignment with company objectives. The Director will leverage their extensive industry expertise to identify market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs, ultimately shaping the product portfolio to maintain a competitive edge and achieve revenue targets. Their responsibilities also include budget management, cross-functional collaboration, and fostering innovation to ensure the ongoing success and expansion of the product category.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Develops and communicates a clear vision and strategy for the product category in alignment with the company's overall goals.
Oversees and leads a team of product managers, marketers, and other professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and support.
Manages the entire product portfolio within the category, from ideation and development to launch and ongoing improvements.
Continuously monitors market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and threats.
Sets and achieves revenue and profitability targets for the product category, taking ownership of financial performance.
Drives the development process, ensuring that products are designed and delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
Collaborates with various departments, such as sales, marketing, engineering, and operations, to ensure a coordinated approach to product category goals.
Fosters a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging the creation of new products and features that meet customer needs.
Develops and manages budgets for the product category, allocating resources effectively to achieve objectives.
Keeps the customer at the center of decision-making, ensuring that products meet customer expectations and needs.
Establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success and impact of the product category.
Communicates progress, challenges, and opportunities to company leadership and stakeholders.
Ensures that products meet regulatory and industry standards and requirements.
Identifies and mitigates risks associated with the product category, whether they are market-related or operational.
Develops a long-term roadmap for the product category, considering evolving market conditions and emerging technologies.
Identifies and pursues strategic partnerships or acquisitions that can enhance the product category's competitiveness.
Collaborates with the marketing team to create and implement effective branding and marketing strategies for the product category.

Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Engineering or other related field
10+ years of progressive experience in related role
5+ years relevant industry experience preferred
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
Normal office conditions with extensive computer and phone usage.
Ability to work extended hours as necessary.
Able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
Frequent travel may be required.
TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach tocompensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining basecompensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, andwork location. The expectedannual/hourlybase pay range for this position is$155,000 – $165,000.Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays,paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
