ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Negotiate pricing on purchases for all parts, suppliers and services
- Perform contract amendments and extensions
- Work with suppliers and internal customers to resolve pertinent issues.
- Work closely with Accounts Payable to resolve any invoicing interruptions
- Maintain proper contract documentation and files.
- Establish appropriate inventory levels that best support the business
- Identify and evaluate cost savings opportunities
- Identify and recommend procurement process improvements
- Integral part of Purchase Order Verification (POV) process; confirm PO placement, confirm delivery date and expedite delivery problems.
- Clerical functions for expedite and verification of receipt of purchase orders, as well as acceptance of the terms and conditions, on-doc date, price, delivery address, etc.
- Become the on-site SRM super user keeping updated on all changes/upgrades
- Act a back-up support for buyers in Monterrey and Carlsbad
- Works towards improvements for process efficiencies
- Work in a safe manner following all PPE and standardized processes
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Must be able to read, write and understand English
- Experience in using computerized purchasing and materials management systems
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with SAP enterprise resource planning systems a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree – Business Administration or related degree program;
- 4 to 6 years of buying experience preferably for maintenance, repair and operating supplies.

- The employee may be frequently expose to fumes or airborne particles
- The employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- The employee is regularly asked to utilize standard office equipment
- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
